Throughout my entire four years of high school, I spent everyday after school babysitting for a woman who lived in my neighborhood. She had three children who were 5, 6, and 9 years old when I began watching them. My responsibilities included making sure the children arrived home safely from their bus stop, making sure all homework was completed, fixing their dinner once in a while, and most importantly keeping them entertained! I also have two brothers much younger than myself. Both of my parents worked more than full time so I spent a lot of my time caring for my siblings. They would sometimes even join me and the three other children after school, which I will admit five children at a time was sometimes quite the handful! This is where I gained most of my newborn and toddler experience, as they are 7 and 14 years younger than I. I also did a lot of babysitting for my aunts and uncles. I am CPR/First Aid certified, and have my own reliable transportation. I feel that caring for children is something that comes natural to me and I truly enjoy the time that I spend with them!
