I love being a sitter because it comes easy to me. I have been babysitting since about 12 years old and I have never been sick of it! I have also been a counselor at a summer camp for the last 5 years so I am certified in first aid and CPR.

Madelyn is SUCH a great sitter. Our daughter, who can be really shy and scared of strangers, opened up to her immediately. She was never distracted by something else during her time at our house and was always talking to our daughter and engaging her, even before she could really say words. She's such a gem and we're so sad to leave the area because we can't have her all the time. The playroom was always clean at the end of their time together and she did a great job of changing diapers at the appropriate times.

Hi! I'm Lian, a current college student at UMass Amherst, and I'm looking to provide some extra help or care for kid who need it while I'm working on campus over the summer. I don't have any professional experience with traditional child care (yet), but I have a wealth of other experiences that have developed my skills for working with kids and love for helping them out. I've helped to take care of younger cousins and my nephew growing up, providing care ranging from simply spending time with them and making sure they're safe, to homework help, preparing food, and providing strong emotional support when times get rough and they most need it. Through younger family, I have also had first-hand experience caring for kids with ADHD, including helping impulse control, and keeping patience when teaching academic skills like reading or math. I also have 2+ years of experience outside my family. One of these experiences is volunteer tutoring, where I have experience working with kids from upper elementary all the way through high school, teaching subjects such as math, reading comprehension & writing skills, and biology. At the same time, this experience has also helped develop my communication, minor conflict-resolution, and leadership skills. I've also volunteered at a marine life center, where I taught and engaged kids of all ages about our local marine wildlife, while also ensuring safety and rule-following. This included instructing safe and careful play in the touch-tanks (and redirecting kids from playing in the non-touch-tanks), keeping a close eye on or staying near them if parents needed to step out for any reason, and reminding them about respect for the wildlife (and one another) if things started to get a bit too rough. Most importantly though, this also gained me a lot of experience in ensuring the kids also had a fun, educational time. I'd answer all their questions as best as I could (including the ever-repetitive "Why?"), let them talk about their interests, helped them discover all the center had to offer, and most importantly, made sure they had fun while learning. I have training in CPR and extensive first-aid knowledge, as well as experience interacting with a range of special-needs kids (within and outside of family). Ultimately, what'd I love most about being a sitter is just getting to help kids out, teach them some interesting things along the way, and learn about what cool little humans they are.

I have my associates and bachelor's in early childhood, as well as my masters in psychology. I have been in childcare for about 9 years working with different age groups (birth to five). I have such a strong passion working with kids and seeing them grow as individuals. I am currently a preschool teacher in a head start setting, wanting to help families out by babysitting after my head start shift. :)

Hi there! My name is Ashley, and I am a 22-year-old undergraduate student. I have had plenty of experience working with kids, whether it was as a camp counselor or an as-needed babysitter for neighbors and friends. I also worked with kids for several years as a junior Taekwondo instructor. I am reliable and patient, and I am resourceful in challenging situations. I am also physically fit and enjoy getting active and involved with whatever the kids are doing, like going to parks, riding bikes, stomping around in puddles, or playing with action figures or dolls. I think being attentive as well as being involved is what helps foster trust between the kids and me, no matter how old they are (and it makes the job fun!). I also have skills in cooking, cleaning (and organizational skills), and basic first aid. I am CPR certified as of November (2024). I am available to take care of pets, too (I have plenty of my own at home!).

Hello! My name is Klara and I have been caring for children for 9 years, from toddlers to adolescents. I graduated in the spring of 2024 with a B.A. in psychology and minor in education, and am currently pursuing a M.Ed./Ed.S. degree in school psychology. I believe that play is essential for child development, and I strive to create a safe and fun environment where children can learn and grow. I love working with children because they bring such curiosity, energy, and honesty to every interaction. There is something incredible meaningful about helping them grow - not just academically, but emotionally and socially too. It's rewarding to be a part of their journey, watching them overcome challenges and discover their strengths, and I know that even small moments can have a lasting effect on how a child sees themselves and the world around them. I communicate openly with parents about their child's day, and am very comfortable enforcing household rules. I have training in both CPR/First Aid as well as Youth Mental Health First Aid. Lastly, I have a car and clean driving record, and am comfortable driving children to and from activities. Feel free to contact me to request references or if you have any further questions!
