Rebecca’s Bio

Hello parents!  I am Becky Albritton and I am looking to provide an important service to my local community by providing safe and reliable babysitting to busy, stressed parents who are in need of a break!  My goal is to provide evening or weekend, date night type childcare.  I would like to be the go-to Friday night sitter so that you and your spouse/friends can get out, go on a date and have a fun break from your childcare routine.  5:30pm - midnight and possibly later on weekends.  Most people have "daycare" figured out yet many parents don't have the opportunity to go out on the weekends because they don't have a good babysitter.  Or maybe you'd like to hit the mall for 2 hrs without the kids. My goal is to make a meaningful contribution to my family and local community without throwing the planets out of orbit.  :)
I am 31 years old and I have 2 children of my own, ages 2 and 5.  I am now a stay at home mother.  I am originally from Harford County, MD.  I served 6 years in the Air Force (think NSA) and was honorably dishcharged in 2008.  I met my husband while both stationed in TX and we had our first child shortly after my discharge.  After the military I used my GI Bill to attend nursing school in TX full time.  I received my RN in 2010 and was the valedictorian of my graduating class.  Before graduation I was selected for an internship at the NICU where I spent a month caring for critically ill newborns.  A week after graduation we relocated to MD for a new job my husband had accepted.  Meanwhile, I was pregnant with baby #2 and decided to put my professional RN career on hold indefinitely.  In the Spring of 2013 I gave my professional nursing career another shot with the VA in Baltimore but ultimately resigned after 2 months because the hours weren't ideal for my children or our family. I have always considered childcare as an obvious option for myself given my talents and background.  I have all the requirements of a licensed RN in MD to include; Full FBI background check with fingerprints and CPR/BLS cert.  I am experienced with the safe care of newborns and infants.  I am very familiar with expressed breastmilk and formula and how to safely handle each. I have tactics to calm the colic baby as well.  I love board games and puzzles and crafts of all types.  Most of my personal experience is with children 5 and under but I am open to sitting for a child of any age.  I can do dinner for the kids, clean up, hang out, do a craft, listen to Taylor Swift, make sure teeth are brushed, read a bedtime story and have the lights out at whatever time Mom and Dad say.  The house won't be a mess when you get home!  I have been sitting for 2 families in the Baltimore area and can provide their phone numbers if you would like a reference.  If you think I may be the right person then message me.  Thanks!
For clarification: I am not advertising myself as an RN.  I have a license but I won't be working under it for this type of job.  :)

Wonderful! We hired Becky as a sitter for our two boys (21 mos and 4 years) during a Saturday night function for my school, so my wife could come out with me.
She fed my kids the food we prepared, bathed and brushed their teeth, and put them in bed. She was smart enough to not fall for the four year old's manipulations (ie: "Mommy ALWAYS lets me have a full cup of juice 10 minutes before bedtime."), and left our home in order.
She was not picky about the time we needed to be back, and kept us updated on how the kids were doing. And the kids loved her so much, they STILL talk about her visit!
BONUS: She has done cloth diapers with her own kids, so she's not intimidated by them and knows how to care for them!! We will be calling her again when needed, and happily recommend her to any other families who need a sitter.
