Right now, I’m teaching art at the Middle School of the Kennebunks and working toward my master’s degree in Art Education. I’ve worked with kids of all ages, from four months to teenagers. I’ve been a nanny for several families and have also done lots of date night and event babysitting. Over the years, I’ve worked in several daycare settings, special education classrooms, and directed summer camps. I love working with kids and bringing creativity into everything I do. I live in South Berwick, Maine. I worked full time at a childcare in York for the past 11 years. I just recently switched jobs to become a nanny. I currently work part time for two different families. Starting in mid November I will have availability for nannying two days a week. I grew up in Illinois but recently moved out to Maine. I used to work for Presence Marketing as the National Senior Data Lead for 10 years but got laid off during COVID. Before moving out to Maine I completed my general education courses at Harper College in Illinois to graduate as a science major. My ultimate goal is to move forward and become an ultrasound technician. Looking back, my greatest achievement in high school was volunteering for a program called Best Buddies. We worked with students who had mental disabilities, and I personally worked one on one with a student who was mute. In the end, I believe he taught me more in those 3 years than I could ever teach him. I’ve been babysitting on and off for about 12 years, but my favorite experience by far was babysitting twins (a boy & a girl) for a little over a year and a half. When I first started the twins were only a couple of months old, so it was definitely a learning curve but extremely rewarding in the end. I have worked in various different classrooms and other babysitting jobs! - I had so many lovely minis that would rely on me to help them understand their homework, help them with their hair , show me their art work and project from class and of course you cannot forget the piggyback rides! ! I have also worked with baby’s who are just hitting milestones - tummy time is always fun ! Helping them step a couple steps never gets old ! And just I love the routines babies have ! Play, eat , sleep and grow up strong and smart ! Keeping that in mind I adore toddlers ! And previous twin toddlers I helped take care of really won my heart over ! Soo smart soo strong already but soo little ! I have experience with difficult kids as well ! And I always use redirection or sometimes they just want someone to understand them ! So with autism and other behavioral issues I am comfortable ! Older kids seem to get along great with me and usually don’t mind having me around anyways ! I can help them with their homework as well and also keep track of where they are going and keeping them out of trouble haha! I know you as parents work hard and just want to come home to your littles- so I don’t mind helping cleaning up or whatever you guys need to be comfortable when you get home !
