Hello! I am an experienced caregiver who has participated in childcare for over 22 years as a nanny, babysitter, and in center based environments. I have experience with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school aged kiddos; I have cared for children up to age 16. I have done numerous overnights for families, so I have experience with that! I put emphasis on learning through play, and, being a nature lover, try to find ways to incorporate nature in our activities. When with your child, we can sing, read, dance, do art projects, listen to music, go for walks, and take field trips to farms, the museum, playgrounds, and other fun places. I have taken child development classes, so I am pretty aware of where kids are developmentally. Respecting others is important to me, so I try to find teachable moments to convey this. I am first aid/CPR certified. I have reliable transportation, and consider myself to be very reliable as well. I am looking to work in Portland, or within 25 miles of it. lam originally from Maine/ Maryland and I just moved to Oregon for college to study Biology! I have babysat all throughout middle and high school and just finished my 3rd summer as a sleep away camp counselor! During the school year, when I'm not going to practice or rehearsal, I help coach a Girls on the Run team and a youth rugby team. From sophomore to senior year, I was a part of my high schools "Childhood Development" program. Under the supervision of a teacher, we planned lessons and taught preschoolers for a portion of our day. I have have just come back from my first year at college where I managed a local daycare part time! I love to cook and have lots of experience in the kitchen so whipping up a quick dinner is no problem at all! I have completed a "Safe Sitters" course with my local hospital and l am a lifeguard who is CPR, AED, and first aid trained.
