Hi, my name is Valerie and I am interested in part-time childcare work. I am a mom of 5 Vikings ( as my husband and I call them). My two oldest have moved out, and I have 2 in High School and 1 in Community College. I have been a stay-at-home mom for (most of) 23 yrs. I started following my kids to school, and volunteering in classrooms until the school finally hired me! When I realized that my kids would rather be with their friends I decided it was time to get out of the house. My neighbor agreed and offered me up as a nanny for friends of hers. I obtained my CPR certification and accepted a temporary Nanny position, part-time, for an infant. I so enjoyed my time with a little again! My position ended when circumstances changed and the family moved from the area. Since that first job, I’ve had a family in town for two days for work and hired me to care for their infant for a few days. Then two very lovely families who each only needed me part of the week became my primary jobs and kept my schedule full. Then it happened. A job offer for Husband, in Michigan. Since we are originally from Michigan, we made the very difficult decision to move. Yay Husband. Bummer to leave the families I had been a part of. Pre-Husband and Vikings, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Science at Central Michigan University. Being a bit of a wanderer, I found myself in Chicago working at an Ad Agency! My family and I moved to Greensboro about 8yrs ago, and loved having both mountains and Ocean available for our adventures. However, the never ending heat and humidity will not be missed. I enjoy getting outdoors daily, and perhaps it’s the Earth Science background, but I love taking the little ones outside and introducing them to the trees, flowers, birds, whatever we come across. Kids are such natural sponges, they soak it all in. Having the opportunity to smell or touch or hold something greatly improves their understanding of their environment.

Valerie has been AMAZING! We've been lucky to have her services for about 12 hours a week for the past year. She has beautifully cared for, taught and loved on our now 1.5 year-old son (who just adores her) while my wife and I both worked from home... as well as occasionally our now 4 year-old daughter (who also adores her!). Additionally, Valerie would support our child-care needs for weekends-away, sick-days etc. Valerie brought such love and attention to our kiddos, their evolving allergy needs and eagerly took them outside for daily walks and exploration. She has been a true gift. We are so sad that Valerie will be moving away, even though our youngest is starting school in the fall, we always hoped to continue relying on Valerie for her wonderful care of our young family. We hold her in the highest regard, and future families would be lucky to have Valerie as part of their child-raising village.

I enjoy working with kid, I’ve been working at a before and after care for an elementary school. I am somewhat new to Child Care although it gives me experiences for the career I want to pursue. I am CPR certified/First Aid, bilingual in Spanish etc. In my senior year of high school I took a class to help a teacher out and see what it looks like behind a teacher's lens. I coached rec gymnastics for ages 3-10 and enjoyed working and see the kids improve. I am really excited to bring my passion out and hopefully build connections with kids. Wanting to gain experience but also supporting your families needs :)!

Phoebe worked with our boys for a few months on the weekends when we needed some extra help. She was always punctual, a great communicator, and very responsible. She was also very good at entertaining our wild boys, often creating fun, active games for them even when they were cooped up inside. I would recommend her highly. :)

Hello! My name is Moriah, and I am a dedicated, compassionate babysitter and caregiver with over 12 years of experience working with children from infancy through age 18. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Human Development, and I am First Aid and CPR certified, ensuring your child’s safety and well-being are always my top priorities. I view babysitting as more than supervision — I see it as being extra hands and feet for families, offering protection, care, and encouragement while helping children grow into the best versions of themselves. I bring a calm, nurturing presence, strong communication skills, and an understanding of child development to every family I work with. In addition to childcare, I also have 3 years of professional cleaning experience, allowing me to help maintain an organized, clean, and comfortable environment for your home. Moriah has been one of our children’s sitters for years! She is an excellent choice to watch your children. She is reliable, kind and energetic. She took the time to really get to know our children so that each time they are together is memorable and fun. She is always quick to respond to messages and keeps us up to date when watching the kids. She is respectful of our guidelines for the kids activities, food choices and discipline. She is our go too and the kids are disappointed when she isn’t available.

I have a love of children from growing up in a big family and being the oldest. Kids bring lots of happiness and make life more of an adventure. I like to make a difference and show the kids that we can always have fun and learn lots of new things. I have been working in daycares since 2018 and started nannying in December of 2022. I’m also CPR and first aid certified. I worked with newborns up to 10 year olds mostly but more than comfortable with older children. I like to do arts and crafts and be outside as much as possible. I’ve done potty training and know also work to teach sign language!

Hi! I’m Kendyle, a student at the University of Michigan with 8 years of babysitting experience. I started babysitting when I was 11, riding my bike to care for five kids down the street ranging in age from 1 month to 9 years old. Since then, I’ve worked with over 15 families and truly enjoy building connections with kids and watching them grow. I’ve cared for children of all ages and have experience watching up to 8 kids on my own. I’m certified in babysitting and CPR, and I’ve also worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor, which has given me even more experience working with children in a safe and structured setting. In addition to childcare, I’ve also tutored kids and can help with homework when needed. I’m reliable, patient, and always happy to lend a hand. I’d love the opportunity to care for and support your family!

We loved Nancy! She was very friendly and engaging with my daughter. She gave her tons of attention and by the end of the day I'm pretty sure she liked Nancy more that me :) Thanks for helping us out last minute!

Growing up in a large family, I learned to provide child care from a young age. I have always enjoyed the exuberance and innocence of young kids, and focused my career toward child care even since high school. I like assisting in the mental growth and development of the world’s future! I worked for the public school system in various positions over 6 years, primarily in elementary schools. I have been the lead Teacher’s Assistant in a daycare center and have been an active organizer in children’s programs, including Girl Scouts, as well as church youth groups. I have years experience caring for children, from infants to teens. I am infant and adult CPR and First Aid certified, and am certified through the State of Michigan in Nutrition, Food Safety and Sanitation. I have experience with medical support, such as insulin injections, disabled dependent care, and wound dressing. I have taken courses in childhood American Sign Language and Early Childhood Development, and have studied infant physical and speech therapy. For me, I have three grown children, aging 25-30. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing board games, and doing arts & crafts. I live in Livingston county with my husband of 33 years, our two dogs, and cat. Thank you for consideration, I look forward to hearing from you!

Hello! I am 25 years old and have been babysitting/nannying for various families for about 11 years. I have worked with children from as young as a month old up to about 12 years old. I have experience working with multiples, as well as two under two and three under two. I have an associate’s degree in human services from Washtenaw Community College and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Eastern Michigan University. I have a strong understanding of child development, and I truly enjoy engaging with kids and facilitating fun activities. I also have experience in pet sitting, and I love animals, so pets in the home are no trouble. I am fully vaccinated and happy to complete a background check. My additional previous experience includes: -Teaching ballet to 6-8 year olds at the Ann Arbor Ballet Theatre (C.A.S. Ballet Theatre School). -Internship at Sophie’s Place music therapy studio located at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital within the Child Life department, where I worked alongside music therapists in supporting children of all ages and abilities. -Internship at Girl’s Group Ann Arbor, where I was a mentor to high school and middle school students within the Ann Arbor Public Schools and the Ypsilanti Community Schools. -Volunteering at Educate Youth Ypsilanti’s afterschool program, where I helped to support at-risk middle and high school students to ensure Educate Youth’s 100% high school graduation rate. -Working with Embracing Our Differences Michigan as a docent leading groups of K-12 students on field trips exploring art that represents multiple forms of intersectionality and diversity. -Starting the butterfly/rain garden at Thurston Elementary School in 2016 alongside two other individuals, with the intention of a learning opportunity about butterflies for elementary students.
