Hello! My name is Maia and I am a 30-year-old stay-at-home mother to a beautiful one-year-old baby girl. Ever since I was a child, I knew that I was meant to be a mother. My experience with children starts at age 7 when my little sister was born. I took on the role of a second mother to her, tending to her needs by changing diapers, giving her baths, feeding her, and putting her to bed. All together I have 6 younger siblings. In addition to my familial experiences, I also have babysitting and daycare experience with infants, toddlers and school-age children. At 16 I began working with teens and young children with special needs in their homes. Shortly after I received my associates I began working in center base level 3 EBD children. After having my two daughters I saw an opportunity to be with them and work with children. I received my bachelor's in psychology and starting working at a licensed childcare Montessori, as an infant teacher. After a year and a half I realized I had a real passion for leadership. I have worked a total of two years as an assistant director of a childcare and learning centers. I have always loved teaching and working with children who need a little extra love. I did volunteer work in the church. For 3 years I took care of children of all ages at church. Babies from 6 months to 1 year, and children from 2 to 10 years. With the babies, I helped take care of them by giving them bottles, changing their diapers and putting them to sleep. When they were awake, they played games to stimulate the baby's skills, such as painting, playing Legos or watching cartoons on TV. With the older children I did activities that also stimulate their development, such as drawing and painting, playful games, I gave them snacks and was always there to give them all the support they needed, and it was really cool, because at the same time I taught them, I also learned from them. to be patient and empathetic and to understand their needs.

I graduated high school last year and decided to take a gap year to focus on babysitting and gaining real-life experience working with children.
