I’m often told I have a strong maternal instinct and a calm, nurturing presence. I played softball and volleyball through high school before a knee injury, so I’m comfortable supporting kids with sports and active play. As an honor roll student, I’m happy to help with homework and learning routines. I also have experience working with children with severe autism as well as Down syndrome. I’m currently expecting my first child this July, which has only deepened my passion for caring for and supporting children.

I have been caring for children in some capacity my entire adult life and decided to make it my career about 10 years ago because I wanted to make my own happiness my goal in life. And being around the infectious joy of children seemed like the perfect place to do that. I’ve worked as a nanny and also in a daycare classroom but far prefer private childcare setting. Daycare classrooms make it so hard to meet the needs of the individual. I maintain CPR and first AID certifications as well as safe sleep, SIDS and prevention of maltreatment of children. I believe in a gentle disciple approach and that children can be given firm boundaries and consistent correction without ever having to be hit or using harsh discipline. We learn through play in the environment around us. And I believe in building confidence in kids through letting them explore their own mistakes in a safe space, helping them learn through them. Our mantra is “messes happen! No big deal!” While we clean up and try again. I also grew up here in Moore County and am choosing to raise my own son here as well. He’s 10 years old now and going into the 5th grade this year. Can’t wait to get out there and explore all there is to being a kid in our beautiful Sandhills with your little one!
