Hello, my name is Mara & I'm currently a college student majoring in Psychology at UNL. I’m looking to be an occasional sitter & help for individuals/families. I have a passion for working with kids, building positive relationships with the youth, and being an influence in their lives. I currently occasionally babysit/nanny for multiple families here in Lincoln and have been doing so since 2023! As of now, other positions that I hold that include working alongside children (require background checks before acquiring the position, that to which I have documentation of) I work with Camp Sonshine, volunteer with the Royal Family Kids program as well as Teen Reach Adventure Camp. During the 2024-2025 academic year, I participated in the America Counts/Reads program as a student tutor within selected elementary schools here in town as a federal work-study position. Within the student tutor position, we assisted individual or small groups of students (K-5) who needed extra support specifically in areas of Math & Reading. In the past, I've also previously worked in an early childhood daycare center called Adventure Academy for a year from 2022-2023 that provided experience working in an environment with all ages (infant to school age). Some certifications include that I’m fully background screened, take part in both camp counselor & mentor training to mentor foster care kids and better support "at risk" youth through RFK & TRAC. I also have training in First Aid/CPR/AED, but I'm working to get my certificate renewed as it expires every two to three years. I graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University with my Bachelor's degree in Nursing in February of 2025. I am currently working at CHI St. Elizabeth in Lincoln in their NICU!
