I am a full time student at the University of New Haven looking for a weekend job. I grew up with six siblings, so I'm very well versed in childcare for a range of ages. I also spent some summers in high school babysitting family friends from time to time. I am CPR and first aid certified through the Red Cross. I am very responsible, patient and energetic. I love to be outdoors and doing fun activities, and I have some experience tutoring, so I am happy to help with homework if needed. I don't mind doing simple household chores such as laundry or dishes. I look forward to meeting you and your children!

I am a professional Nanny with 20+ years of childcare experience. I had a BS in Early Childhood Development from Keene State College and have raised two children of my own - an adult daughter and fourteen-year-old son. While I have worked as a Infant, Toddler and Preschool teacher, I prefer work as a Nanny so I can completely focus on one family and their children. I feel it is important to allow floor time for infants, to let them stretch out their bodies and I am with them, offering toys and talking to them and to encourage them to reaching out for toys, and moving their bodies. I love language development and have a way to encourage sounds and responses. I have the ability to calm any baby down quickly, I work on the calm checklist, is the baby hungry? wet? tired? needing cuddles? I believe toddlers require activities with sensory play. Simple crafts (using paints more for the 'feel' than any particular project) can be a great tool for this kind of development. Songs/game also grow in importance for continued language development. Preschoolers are actively learning letters, numbers, colors, and all about the world around them. Imaginative games and playing dress-up can help encourage social development while small-motor skills can be developed through coloring and cutting with scissors. Finally, learning to dress themselves (including outside clothes) is an important skill to develop as children prepare for Kindergarten. For all ages, I think reading and time outdoors in the fresh air are crucial. So, I work to make sure these are part of the daily routine. I also feel that children should have limited "screen time". I really love to support mothers! So, I will do light housekeeping and shopping if that is required. I also know how to make great, nutritional meals. A particular favorite are baked kale chips! What a great, savory flavor and crunch! I would like to work full time, but can consider part time. I am currently working but will be available in August 2016. I hope to hear from you. Nanny Nell

Hi! My name is Christina. I ran a licensed family child care home for 15 years and am currently in a nanny share. The share will be ending late August due to my two main kiddos starting full day kindergarten. I am searching for my next family. I look forward to speaking with you!
