I started working in childcare in my teens and worked as a daycare teacher for ages 18 months to 3 years. I then worked as a private nanny for children ages newborn- 8 years. I relocated to Buffalo a few years ago for a long term position caring for a special needs child. Unfortunately he is moving into hospice care and will no longer need me. I enjoy spending time with my family, doing arts and crafts and baking with the kiddos. My children will be attending school this school year so I am looking for a part time babysitting job while they are in school. I’m both organized and clean and know simple sign language. I graduated high school in 2010 with an early childhood trade certificate from Erie 1 Boces. Hi! Over the years, I have developed a strong passion for working with children. For 7 years, I was a volunteer baton twirling coach; teaching girls ages 6-18 how to twirl and eventually bringing them to local and state competitions to compete. For the last 2 years, I was employed as a Teaching Assistant in an Early Childhood Center, working with children nine months to five years of age. I have also worked in a therapeutic school, where I received ABA therapy training. Along with this, I have been babysitting since 2016 with children ages five months to ten years old. All of these experiences, along with tutoring, camp counseling and working in a research lab studying child language disorders, have helped to show me my love of working with children; leading me to pursuing a career as a Speech Language Pathologist in a pediatric hospital.

My name is Kara and I am 35 years old. I have worked in the education system for over 14 years. I was either a personal aide or a classroom aide for all of my school setting jobs. The age range of children I’ve worked with in a professional setting are newborn-21. I worked in the special education area as well, often with autistic kiddos but also with a lot of disabilities and special needs. Growing up, my grandma fostered and adopted 8 kids with a wide range of disabilities. My uncle was paralyzed and had CP, one of my aunts had Down’s syndrome, another cousin was born with FAS. So being exposed to different types of people has definitely given me a certain type of empathy that the average joe isn’t normally exposed to. I also helped raise all 4 of my older sisters children from the time they were born up until now. The oldest is 22 and the youngest is 14. When they were babies I had them all the time because my sister wasn’t the most fit mother because she was a teen mom. So I spent the majority of my life help raise all 4 of the kids. Needless to say, I’ve been around kids with all sort of abilities and disabilities my entire life. I absolutely love kids, I love being able to help them learn and grow. It’s a beautiful process. I am currently not working for any schools at the moment because of Covid. The school system has been cracked for a very long time, but after Covid hit, it was taken to a whole other level. It started to truly suck the love I had for the job out of me and I decided I needed to take a step back because I didn’t want to end up hating something that I’ve loved doing for my entire life. Hopefully we can talk and see if this would be a good match for all of us!

Hi, families! My name is menahil and I am a medical school graduate . I have over 6 years of experience caring for children, ranging from newborns to teenagers, many of whom I have met through Care and while tutoring. I was a Sunday School teacher for few years before moving to Buffalo. Not only that, i also got to babysit with special needs. Children are such a joy and it has been a privilege to work with many families. While I value safety, it is also important to me that kids simply have fun in a creative, loving environment. I enjoy all aspects of childcare, but I especially enjoy arts and crafts, outdoor play, and reading.
