Hi! I am semi retired. I currently work at the Hudson County Montessori School on Quaker Road here in New Rochelle as a substitute teacher. I work primarily with the toddler and primary school kids. I just love working there and am daily amazed on the Montessori approach to education and how self reliant physically and emotionally children can be when it is expected of them. That being said, I am still an “Italian Grandma” at heart and am great at making kids feel safe and loved while in my care. I just don’t give in about them putting away their stuff like I did when my kids were young. I have a background in education with a BA from Marist college and am certified to teach in the state of Florida. Since I was 15yrs old I've helped raised my baby sister. When she was born I had to grow up fast and switch over from sitting at home and watching ABC family to learning how to properly heat up a bottle. Since then I've changed from this and loved the experience. I helped raise her from taking her out to the park, giving her baths, and even watching her from weeknights to weekends. On other occasions I've watched many of my nephews and nieces while my sister was in my presence. I feel that I often grow a bound with children since I tend to make them feel comfortable by getting know them on a everyday level.
