Hello! My name is Greta and I in my third year of school at University of Cincinnati, majoring in neuroscience with the tentative goal to become a pediatric doctor. Outside of school I like to paint, draw, and sculpt, and I run a very small business selling clay pieces (it's very new and definitely still experimental, but fun!). I babysat for nine years back home in Cleveland and I have been lucky enough to babysit/nanny for some other wonderful families here in Cincinnati over the past two and a half years as well! Between the 30+ families I have worked with, I have experience with all ages from 5 week olds through 14 year olds. I have worked as a summer nanny for six years now, and I have continued to babysit on weekdays and weekends whenever I can! I am CPR certified and actually taught first aid for three years back home in Cleveland, and I stay up-to-date on all the safety recommendations and procedures. I love to cook/bake and I love to turn it into a kid-friendly activity, I tutored throughout high school so I'm happy to help with homework, and I grew up playing sports and spending most of my time outdoors so I'm very comfortable on that front as well! I have a reliable car and am willing to commute and transport children whenever necessary. Through the years I have worked for families with dogs, cats, lizards, Guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, snakes, hermit crabs, turtles, birds, and fish. I have two cats back home in Cleveland and one little kitten who lives with me here in Cincinnati :) I grew up going to a Montessori school, so my mindset when working with children is to facilitate learning and independence in every possible situation. Communication is key both between parents and caregivers in a professional sense, and between caregivers and children in the sense that we are all able to express feelings, needs, and reasoning through words. I also grew up in a no-screens during the week household so I know how to come up with creative activities to entertain kids outside of a tv or tablet! I do enjoy the occasional movie night or video game sesh too :) My favorite part about working with children is watching them make connections. I have found that being with children gives me a new perspective on seemingly mundane aspects of life, and I thoroughly enjoy watching and helping them learn and grow. I have been in the childcare business for over 20 years. I've worked in several daycare facilities and preschools as well as working for private families and groups. For 7 years I ran my own in home daycare but ended up closing it due to covid and at the same time birthing my daughter. I have recently moved, the covid pandemic is behind us hopefully and I have reopened my in-home daycare so I can continue doing what I love. I have basically raised so many children from infancy through their school years and consider them to be my adopted children.
