I have babysat for many friends and families over the past 7 years, before and after school, on weekends and consistently throughout the summer. I also worked in a daycare, part-time during high-school, interacting and taking care of children starting as young as 2 months old. I love going on adventures, playing sports, being outside, trying new & creative things, baking/ cooking as well as working together and using an imagination to have fun! I have enjoyed getting to know all of the families that I have been lucky enough to care for and I'm excited to get to meet new people and any animals/pets are a bonus! :) I am currently going to school in Portland for nursing, but looking for some occasional sitting within the area to fit in my schedule!

Darla’s Bio I am originally from Laguna Beach, California! I have 3 brothers and have always been surrounded by kids! I attended college in Eugene, OR to pursue an Early Childhood Development degree. After a year of college, I traveled to Sri Lanka to live locally and volunteer daily at a Special Needs Orphanage. I then followed an opportunity to Spain to be an Au Pair for a family with a daughter with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. I had a full time nanny position in Encinitas, CA, from August 2018- August 2019(Ages 4 and 9). I have worked in 3 different Montessori schools since moving to Portland. I am currently a live in nanny with a family I have worked with and loved for 3 years! However, Both children are in full-time school now. So I am looking for a part-time positions. I am working on becoming a certified postpartum doula and gaining more infant experience! The bulk of my experience is toddler age! I am fully vaccinated and boosted! I enjoy time with kids so much, specially with little ones. I speak Spanish, English and basic French. Also, I am an outdoor person and I really love arts, specially singing! I used to be an AuPair in Beaverton for 1 year and 7 months. I watched three kids: a 10 months-old, a 3.5 years-old and a 5.5 years-old. I was in charge of waking them up, preparing meals, make sure they brush their teeth, preparing baby’s bottle, changing diapers, dropping off and picking up the older ones to school, takings them to the park to play, setting playdates with friends, to the library, potty training, teaching the little one to speak (I used to speak to him Spanish and he understood very well!) and to walk. It was an amazing experience! I left and dedicated myself to my career (I got a bachelors degree in Mass communication) around the world: Mexico, Venezuela and Spain. I just came back to the US and my previous host family received me to stay while I set everything up here. The younger kid is now 7 years-old!
