With several years of teaching experience, I bring patience, structure, and fun to every interaction. My degree was in mathematics and physics education, but I am also CPR and First Aid certified, and comfortable working with children of all ages. Prior to my middle and high school teaching career I worked at a day camp for five summers working with Kindergarten through 8th grade. I am mainly interested in helping during school breaks or special occasions or if you do need a consistent sitter, I am pretty available this summer and a bit throughout the school year. I work there full time Monday-Friday from 9a-3p; this being said, I am looking for extra work outside of these hours. I am available most evenings and can even do some weekend hours. I was a stay at home mom from 1986 to 1993. I also cared for other children in addition to my children. At the most, I had 3 under age 2 as well as my daughter and son. In 2004, I also opted to stay home while my daughter was finishing high school and preparing for college. At the time I provided daycare for 3 children in my home ages 4, 1 1/2 & an infant. Recently (within last 18 months) I have occasionally cared for my companion's grandson who just turned 2 in May.

I am a 20 year old college student. I attend Millersville University for early childhood education with a minor in integrated stem education. I also play volleyball at Millersville University. My hobbies include working out, going to my families camp on the Allegheny river, water sports, reading, and spending time with family and friends! I have to Border Collies as well. I love working with children because they are like big balls of bubbly energy. They are caring individuals and always wanting to learn. I also grew up in sports and loved being a positive role model for young athletes. I have babysat for a few family friends. The one family had 3 children, one in kindergarten, a toddler, and an infant. The other family was just an infant. I also am a summer camp counselor for the age of kindergarten. This was at the Cranberry YMCA. I was also a lifeguard for 3 years at Penn Valley Athletic Club. What sets me apart is I myself was a child who grew up having babysitters. As a babysitter I would be more than happy to take your children to swimming pools, do crafts, play games, play outside, go to the park, or go to the zoo with the children. My babysitters did these activities with us and it was a nice way to get out of the house and away from electronics.

I used to work as a correctional officer and before that I was a direct support professional where I took care of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities but I’m looking for a side job. I have reliable transportation as well as I car, I have diabetes training, I have my child abuse clearance, as well as the other clearances and I have first aid training. In the past I have also worked in daycares. The jobs I’ve had have mainly been where I’m taking care of people. I love working in the fields I have because I know that I am actually helping people who are in need of it. I’m not a super outgoing person until I establish a relationship with the individuals I am working with. Everyone will tell you I have a big heart, I’m kind, I’m hardworking, and that my biggest strength is caring for others. To me when you are working with individuals, especially children, you’re not just some there to be there. You’re an important role in their life. You’re there to help them grow and learn. You should be their role model if you’re going to work a job like this. Kids notice the way you act, they pick up on the words you say, etc. and I feel as though you should need to be a person that can show them how to have the upmost respect for others so they aren’t being taught the wrong thing.

I provide support for kids that have autism and other emotional/behavioral needs. I graduated from Butler County community College with my associates degree in early childhood. I am looking at going back to college for my bachelor's degree. I have over a decade of experience in this field between working at multiple child care jobs like at the ymca as a camp counselor, a before and after school program, babysitting for numerous families, a birthday party facilitator, and this current job working with kids and families. I have all my clearances. I am certified in CPR and first aid. I take an annual CPI training every year (crisis prevention intervention training).
