In college, I started babysitting for families with toddlers and elementary-aged children. When I graduated, I began teaching music, working with children grades 1-8. Now I currently work with kindergarten children aged 5-6. Outside of teaching music, I am a very active individual. I enjoy cooking, baking, reading, performing on voice and piano, exploring museums and new places, playing guitar, and sports. I recently received my black belt and have been training in martial arts for five years. I also enjoy playing volleyball and frisbee in recreational leagues with friends. As a sitter, I've always enjoyed providing the best experiences for families and their children. I am not the kind of sitter who is going to be content doing the bare minimum. I really genuinely love helping families and engaging and creating quality activities for children. Especially during the warmer months, I love taking children for time outside like walks to the park or playing soccer or tag in the yard. I've enjoyed building new lego creations, baking cookies, and drawing and painting. I also have no problem cleaning and doing house work, I actually enjoy it. However, I will always ask if it's okay though. I also have no problem making snacks and food for children. I've always treated each child and family as if they were my own and always make sure to deliver service with the utmost respect and care.

I just earned my RN licensure in September 2024, and will be working full-time in Pediatric critical care this October! Hi! My name is Katie, and I am a single mom to 2 kids (now young adults 😩)! I have so much love to give, and hope I can give some to your kids too! I was working at an in-home daycare from 2017-2020, but we were closed down due to Covid-19, and my boss then made the decision to not re-open. I LOVED my job mostly bc I loved the kids! I used to own my own daycare back in early 2005- late 2006 but moved to PA from NH and had to close it down. After the daycare closed (in 2020), I spent the next 3 years nannying for 2 different families from the daycare- part time each- for kids the ages of 4 months, 1, 2, 3, 6, and 7 (when I started). Most recently have 2 families with 2 kids each- ages 2, 3, 3, and 5- (started when they were 1 week old, 1, 1 and 3). To give you an idea how I run things- a typical day will look like this: I like to keep the kids on a routine- morning free play, snack, walk (if the neighborhood allows for this with sidewalks etc), craft or coloring sheet/worksheet, lunch, dance “party” usually follows lunch, could be a video with a dance they love like freeze dance or shake your sillies out or we’ll play a board game or do flash cards or puzzles, playtime, storytime, nap time for littles (if there are any), harder craft/games for older kids who don’t nap if they want one, quiet activities if not, I also utilize this time to clean up morning mess and the kitchen from lunch etc. Then it's end of nap time (2 hours), snack, outside play (chalk, bubbles, hopscotch, water games when it's hot etc). I bring all the stuff for crafts, games, and outside play. I also utilize a “prize bucket” if the kids have trouble with listening or getting into routine with the rest of the kids (if there are any). I firmly believe in positive reinforcement over punishment so every time they show good listening skills or do something helpful, they get to pick a prize out of the bucket. For older kids (ages 4+), it works a little differently but still get prizes. I also really enjoy taking the kids to activities/events away from home. We regularly visit local parks, libraries, indoor play places. I will be available Tuesday, Thursday, and weekends starting in June and then also M,W,F starting mid-August. I can start/end whatever hours you need. 😊
