I’m currently a rising junior Elementary Education major (minoring in Psychology) at Clemson University. I babysat back home in New Jersey for a couple years before I started college. Additionally, I coached gymnastics throughout High School, ages 3-12. I currently work at Cricket After School Care in addition to the Clemson Outdoor Recreation Center. For newborns and infants I focus connection and including them in daily life. To help them touch water from the sink, to feel the puppies fur, to hold grass and smell flowers. To go places and see new things. To introduce them to children, go to reading class learn to sit still for 5 minutes at a time. To know that they have someone that cares about their needs and emotions. For the parents and the childcare provider its important to have open communication and relay information as needed. If necessary to create schedules so the parents know what’s going on and where or if plans change, send a quick text. “Hey, Sarah’s being a extra cranky we are leaving the reading class and going home to check her temperature and see what’s going on. I’ll send you an update soon”. I love working with families to create a worry free, happy, and healthy lifestyle for their children.
