Hello! My name is Heather! I have worked with children formally and informally for many years with a variety of personalities and ages. I have babysat, been a registered behavioral therapist (RBT), early interventionist, tutor, and caregiver. I have babysat for the past 7 years for many families,some for one time occasions and others on a repeat basis. The vast majority of my experience is with toddlers and preschool aged children, but I have some experience with infants in middle schoolers. I mainly babysat 1 or 2 children at a time, but have experience in groups as large as 6. I was a registered behavioral therapist (RBT) for a year and a half, where I implemented behavior plans focused on skill building and behavior reduction. The children I worked with had a variety of developmental and behavioral differences, but I primarily worked with children with autism. This included children with violent and self- injurious tendencies. In this job I worked one to one with the children for 8 hours a day and helped teach and perform care tasks in addition to implementing behavior plans. I was an early interventionist for a few months. In this position I assessed and worked with children with a variety of developmental delays. I worked with the family to create goals for the child, provided resources to the family and implemented weekly play based therapy secessions. I helped to take care of my nephew ages 1.5 to 3 years old. During this time, I engaged in developmentally appropriate play, and daily care tasks. This role was done with another adult. I was a tutor for 2 years , and did so at both a highschool and college level. I tutored in English, sociology, psychology, biology, criminal justice, and related courses. I have experience potty training, behavior reduction, skill building, and teaching self-help skills. I am also CPR certified for children, adults and infants. I have experience in household management and can assist with house work, cooking, driving, scheduling, laundry, cleaning, and tutoring. I feel very lucky that I get to help kids grow and learn, as they inspire me to learn more and stay curious.

I’m currently a rising junior Elementary Education major (minoring in Psychology) at Clemson University. I babysat back home in New Jersey for a couple years before I started college. Additionally, I coached gymnastics throughout High School, ages 3-12. I currently work at Cricket After School Care in addition to the Clemson Outdoor Recreation Center. I absolutely love babies and kids. I have been baby sitting since I was 11 years old. At 16 I raised my nephew from birth to 2 years old while going to high school. I have two babies of my own a 7 year old little girl and a 5 year old special needs baby boy. My son is gtube fed and on oxygen so I have plenty of experience in special needs kiddos. I love you so outside time, arts and crafts, coloring is my absolute favorite and I also do reading time with the kiddos.
