I am planning to further my education in school to be able to go in the Early Childhood teaching field. I am also good with kids; I have been helping my mother raise my three younger siblings all who are under 11 years old. I love babysitting kids. My goal for the future is to be either a teacher in an elementary school or a daycare.

I am a dedicated and compassionate graduate student pursuing a Master’s in Social Work at the University of North Alabama, driven by a profound passion for helping others and making a positive impact in their lives. With a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Social Work from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I graduated magna cum laude, I have consistently channeled my commitment to youth development through various mentoring and tutoring roles. My experiences include working at the YMCA in their Child Watch and after-school program with ages 2 months - 12 years old, as well as volunteering with the STAIR program in Birmingham, focusing on literacy and foundational learning for children. Additionally, my one year experience at the Children’s Museum allowed me to facilitate interactive learning experiences, fostering fun and creativity among young visitors. These experiences have deepened my commitment to supporting and nurturing young individuals. I believe my combined experience and academic background equip me with a comprehensive understanding of child development, effective communication strategies, and a commitment to fostering a positive, safe, and fun environment for children.

Living now in the heart of Florence, I am looking for families who need afternoon care, in the summer time now whom might then desire afterschool care during the school year. I am registered substitute with the state, having taught in many capacities over a decade, as well as working in the summer camp industry, as well as multiple nonprofits, and for private small family clients as well. I can do anything from building model rockets, to musical theatre, general STEAM tutoring, as well as tend to children with select diagnosis or similar outstanding circumstances. I’ve been working with infants and toddlers for about 8 years now. I even had my own toddler class (2yr olds) and my own infant room on separate occasions! I’ve worked with older children less but I still have experience with them as well. Babysitting and being a nanny is more of a hobby for me than it is a job, I don’t necessarily do it for the money, I just really love babies and children and it’s a much easier setting when babysitting than it is when running a class. My schedule is always open, and I don’t mind last minute calls or taking care of your little person just because you need a break.
