I have almost 9 years of experience as a trained babysitter with first aid and CPR certification but have been an older sister for 20 years and have always taken care of my 3 younger siblings. With all of that experience, I’ve learned to be patient and calm and be able to create a safe environment for children in order for them to feel safe, understood, and trusted. I am energetic and can be creative and love helping out with arts and crafts and doing fun things with kids. I am flexible and can adapt to plan changes and work well under pressure while still being organized and paying attention to important details. Hi! My name is Sierra and I’m 22 years old. I’m a career nanny in the Woodbine area. I’m currently nannying for a temp family who are here for work, and are to return to their home state in a couple weeks. I will be searching for a long term family as I’ve been with 3 temporary families in my year of nannying. I am still on great terms with my previous families and I have excellent references. While my priority is always the children, I do light housecleaning and help with any tidying/kids laundry needed. I also offer to do light chores such as grocery shopping or pickup, etc. as I’ve done before for a previous family. With permission from my previous and current families, I meet up with my mom and sister at least once a week so my sister and the children can socialize and become familiar with each other. I’m the oldest of 5 and my baby sister will be 2 in April. I am over 20 years older than her, so we have lots of fun together. As much I love being outdoors, I also love to do crafts, read books, and do age/ developmental appropriate educational activities. I love sensory bins/busy boxes, handprint painting, ziplock bag painting, letter crafts, and fine motor/ gross motor activities to aid in development. I encourage imagination, creativity, and lots of time outdoors rather than use of screen time. I also have 3 months of daycare experience as an infant teacher, so I'm familiar with milestones, sleep training, motor skills and activities for babies as well. I haven’t been in childcare for long, but I’m so passionate about my job and this is truly the career that I want to do. I love that I can help parents out and go the extra mile to make their lives a bit more simple, as well as making a difference in children’s lives everyday. I’m naturally nurturing and patient.
