I am a Graduate student in the Houston area with over 6 years of experience. My love for kids began as an only child who lived in a home where my mother ran a childcare center. Upon moving to the New Orleans area for my undergraduate degree, I began sitting young children on the weekends to help pay for school. I continued to aid families with childcare needs when I moved to Texas for my graduate degree and have made many lovely connections over the years. Kids usually love me because I’m a responsible version of them, so you can bet we’ll be having a lot of “wear your helmet” and “no don’t touch that” fun. They’ve taught me things adults have trouble learning from each other, like listening and communicating. Their minds absorb things faster and they usually communicate their feelings well if you pay attention. They mimic everything they learn even if they aren’t aware of it so it’s wonderful watching them grow while teaching them right from wrong and really seeing the positive impact you’re making. Sort of like a big sister. I love relaxing and watching cartoons just as much as they do, but I love the feeling of teaching them something new, so I like to separate tv, school, and play time rather than just sitting them in front of a screen. I definitely use snacks and bike rides as motivation to learn/do chores when needed. My timeouts are called “silent seconds”, because we think about our actions in this house!

My personality can be described as fun-loving, caring, and trustworthy. Working with children brings me joy and allows me to make a positive impact on their lives. My experience with childcare began at the age of 11 when a neighbor asked me to watch his three boys (ages 3, 4, & 6) whenever necessary. During my free time, I enjoy activities such as baking, watching movies, and spending time outdoors. Above all else, my primary concern is ensuring that your children are safe and well-cared for. Some of my key skills include patience, empathy, and creativity.

Hi, I’m Na’Jaria. I’m currently in school for nursing I graduate next year (2023) very excited about that. I’ve been babysitting for about two years now. I’ve always been great with kids, I even thought about opening a small little daycare.
