Hi everyone! In the past I was a nanny for the same family for 3 1/2 years. I took care of two children while also bringing my own two year old along everyday. It was great for everyone including the kids getting to be social with someone other than their siblings. When I started working for this family the boy was 7 months and the girl was a little over 2 years old. They are now 4 and 6 years old. I only stopped working with them because of my recent relocation. Before working for that family, I worked at a licensed day care facility, Sunrise Preschools for about a year. I gained so much experience there. I worked with children starting at the age of 6 weeks up to 12 year olds. For the most part, my room was the 18month- 2 year old room. I would be alone with six children aged one at a time or eight children aged two at a time. I would serve their breakfast after it was brought to us, do diaper changes/potty training, outside time, arts and crafts, regular play time, nap time, lunch, and snack all on my own. If we had more than 6 or 8 children a second teacher would be in the room as well. I worked at Sunrise Preschools right after graduating high school in 2015. My junior year of high school is when I first started working with children. We had a preschool program within my high school that I was a part of. One hour of my day was spent lesson planning and getting them ready for when I was actually with the children. The other hour of my class schedule was actually doing the lessons and other activities with the children, aged 3-5. My senior year I was a part of the program again and was president of the program. Aside from that experience I would babysit my little cousins and younger kids from church while I was in high school as well. I now have my own three year old and seven year old who have given me the actual experience of being a mom and not just a care taker. I have always loved kids since I took the preschool program in high school. I also worked at the Lilypad Garden School here in San Antonio, I am now just a stay at home mom looking for extra work here and there.
