I like to say I am not a person to demand them around but guide them along a path of exploration & adventure called life. I continuously teach the kiddos in my life how to regulate their emotions, use their words for expression, & validate their feelings. I am a very creative person & love to share that with the kiddos rather it’s physically making art, going on a scavenger hunt, telling them stories, or whatever is of their likings within creativity. I have much experience ages 2 mo-7 years & recently been gaining more experience with 8-15 year olds. My experience is all around coming from doing behavioral therapy with children along the spectrum, behavioral help within classroom settings, visits to parks & pools, in-home routine care (hygiene, meal prep, chores etc.), & giving swim/basketball lessons. I believe it is thoroughly important to hold space for the developing mind of children by boosting their interests & creating a safe space for them to make mistakes & learn from them. I am very experienced with children who are non-verbal & do not know asl yet. I am someone who likes go keep kiddos off of screens as much as possible yet am all down for a movie night & singing/reading books before nap/bedtime. I have a special understanding on techniques to connect with kids who are shy or nervous to have a new caregiver. I carry a warming & loving presence which helps kiddos feel safe in my presence. I’m recently back to Utah from living in Texas. While I was there in Texas I worked for 4 different families, all with variously different needs for care and routines. I’ve been babysitting for as long as I can remember. Around the age of 12 years old I remember watching some neighbors kids who I would make sure were fed and cleaned up and in bed. Then afterwards cleaning up the house once they were asleep. I enjoy seeing children’s face light up when learning something new and the pure imagination they have learning to understand this world. I’d love to have a family I can grow with and get to know well. I’m caring, great active listener, have worked with kids with special needs, I enjoy planning and sharing age appropriate activities, and overall really would just love to have some awesome kids to work with.
