Twelve years ago, I earned a Master’s degree in Education and have over seven years of teaching experience in public education at both the high school and middle school levels. In my early years of motherhood, I operated in-home daycares for infants to pre-school aged children. I have taught and assisted many times in church Sunday School classes (nursery to high school) and have led and assisted with Vacation Bible School (nursery to high school). I have also led and assisted with youth groups and activities to include attending week-long summer camps and weekend retreats. I’m a divorcee of a retired serviceman. Activities I take pleasure in are walking, reading, crafting, healthy eating, spending time in the kitchen and listening to music (dancing to the music, as well, even if someone is watching!). These are also some of the things I like to do with children, and of course, encouraging them to find and pursue their own interests and participating along with them. Life is certainly meant to be enjoyed, but there are times the fun might need to wait. Hello! I have about 5 years experience working with children. I started working with kiddos when I was about 14 years old. I started with watching my younger cousins and helped in my local church. In high school I was in an early childhood education class for three years. Two of the years I was a TA. In this class we had a running preschool. I helped all the students come up with lesson plans to teach the children. I also helped my teacher with other duties. My senior year I got a job as a preschool teacher and worked part time after I got out of school. I was a preschool teacher for about two years, and for about six months I worked as a resource teacher. I also babysat on weekends and other instances for a few families I knew.
