Hi, I'm Sophia! I'm 24 years old. I absolutely love children and have been babysitting since I was 11 years old. My professional experience ranges from getting kids on and off the school bus, getting them ready for bed and getting them up in the morning, preparing snacks and meals for them, full-time and overnight care, etc. I have watched a super incredible 4 year old with Downs Syndrome and his 6 month old sister. I am a 18 year old seeking to see if babysitting is something I would enjoy. I love being around kids and taking care of them. I currently have a background check on caregiver.com I just don’t want to pay another fee for this app. I have experienced with camp light in Waynesboro Va. It is a summer camp for kids and adults who have special needs. I love doing this every year and being able to reconnect with the kids and love them as a camp counselor but also as a sibling. All the kids who come up to me say I am the one who doesn’t want to take everything to seriously and don’t feel that restricted but can be at most times. This has taught me how to control certain circumstances with tantrums and being able to find a spark in a kid. I have learned how to navigate their feelings with them together and teach proper ways to communicate their feelings instead of hands. I have as well had to get serious at times when a child has ran off or trying to hurt other kids or themselves by contacting main people head of the camp to either call parents or another option. I am currently trying to find a way to do my first aid certification and am waiting to get my cpr certification through camp light. I know how to handle dangerous situations and call 911 or take them to the hospital if needs be.

I work full time as a social worker with a license in Special Education. I worked as a teacher for 15 years and miss working with children. I’d love to occasional provide child care support on the weekends/ evenings. Very occasionally overnight can be discussed after some time with the child: individual has occurred.
