My name is Samantha and I am a mother of two youngsters! I have worked for three years as a parent coordinator in co-op preschool with kids from 1 to 5. Additionally, I have nanny experience, new born night care experience and regular babysitter experience. Childcare is by far the best career choice I could have ever made. My approach to childcare is play based and rich in art, books, baking and any other activity kids enjoy. What makes me different from other babysitters is that I come to the job with a range of thoughtful and helpful ideas. Firstly, I help teach children effective solutions for issues that arise for anything from sharing to communicating their needs. Secondly, I go above and beyond to anticipate how I can help parents. I have been babysitting ever since I was 12 years old. I wanted to give back for all the years that I had been taken care of. I took a specific course to become a babysitter and started to babysit my neighbors. I had heard about a course specifically for babysitting, so I took it. After that I was good to go to babysit the whole neighborhood. It worked out perfectly while I attended UC Davis. I graduated with two degrees in Dramatic Art and Design, and two minors in Chicano Studies and Education. I love to teach it and create new things. I am also a Spanish native speaker. For a number of years I was a nanny in exchange for rent and did after hours care and evening and weekend routines with children 1 years old to age 10, including helping with chores and school work and getting them ready for bed. About my background: I home-schooled my children leading to their acceptance into Rhode Island School of Design (full scholarship,) Columbia University and Princeton University. Subsequently, I obtained my bachelor's, master's and PhD degrees in political science, the latter degree at the age of 55. Starting in 2017, I made 17 trips around the country to serve as a sitter educator for my granddaughter. After that I was a nanny educator in Austin, Texas, for her brother. Occasionally I managed care and education for both brother and sister, together. We moved to Bellevue Washington in June of 2023 to continue part-time care for the two grandchildren. Since then, I am working also for other families as a nanny educator and enjoy all age groups.
