I have been an elementary school teacher for the past three years, worked for almost a year at a pre-school, as well as with infants and toddlers for almost 7 years in a church nursery on Sundays. I just graduated from Columbia with my Masters in Social Work. For my undergrad, I graduated from Duke, with a major in History, and a double minor in Education, and Psychology. I have babysat infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary aged children for years. I am responsible for taking care of their physical needs, including changing diapers, playing with them, as well as preparing snacks and meals. I love to get on the floor and play, as I am not a person who just sticks kids in front of the TV. I have helped with play dates, pick-up and drop-off at school, transported kids using the subway and bus, as well as taken kids to the park. I have also worked in an after school and summer camp for a little over 3 years, working with students in K-5. I taught swimming, tennis, and created art and craft activities for the campers. I am a very energetic person, and I am great with kids. I play tennis, and I am an excellent swimmer. Hi , My name is Alejandra, and for short I go by Allie, and I’m 18 years old . I’m the oldest out of my siblings and ever since my mom had my sister, I been taking care of them ever since . I got my sister at 9 years old , and then followed along were my brothers at 10 and 11 years old . I always had helped to take care of them and even watched them on my own many of times . I’m very careful and responsible and listen to kids wants and needs and try to do my best for that . I have a lot of little cousins and watched them many of times . I know how to cook , I know how to bake , I’m very good at following directions and barely make any mistakes, I know how to calm a crying kid/baby down , If baths are needed I know how to do that also while respecting the child’s boundaries and privacy’s , I’m very good at doing really cute hairstyles if needed . I don’t have a car yet , but if I was giving the chance I would always show up on time and leave at the time Im given. Im really good with animals too and gentle and nice. If a child got hurt or needs medical attention I know how to call 911 and explain what happened and make sure the kid gets what they need, if a small little injury had happened I know how to bandage it up. I am a new mom and had my son a year ago. I’m trying to find a side job to keep me busy and something that I can hopefully bring my son along with me for. I am the oldest of 4 children so I’ve had extensive experience watching kids at all ages and have changed many diapers. I have my associates degree, I have taken cpr and first aid training before, I am just not currently certified. I have a car so if you need help running children to different extracurricular activities or running errands that’s not a problem at all.
