I also bring experience as a life skills instructor for adults with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries, as well as teaching independent living skills to youth and young adults experiencing homelessness. These roles strengthened my ability to support emotional regulation, communication differences, and varying levels of independence with patience and respect. I believe effective respite care is built on active engagement, flexibility, and trust. I enjoy learning alongside the people I support through outdoor time, reading, community outings, and hands-on activities such as Legos, arts and crafts, science experiments, puzzles, and movement-based play. I also value calm, restorative time and am comfortable supporting downtime, sensory breaks, and relaxation strategies when needed. I see respite care as both meaningful support for the individual and genuine relief for families—and I take that responsibility seriously.
