School Counselor seeking occasional babysitting positions (weeknights and weekends) I have over 20 years of babysitting experience for children of all ages, from being a nanny for 4 children in New York City (ages 2 to 8), working as the site supervisor of an after school program, completion of my Master's degree in School Counseling which included 600 hours interning with students ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade, and one full year as a middle/high school counselor. I have my bachelor's degree in English from UW- Madison and master's in Counselor Education from UW-Whitewater. I have been re-certified in adult and child CPR in 2016. I truly love working with children--both teaching them and learning life lessons from them. My nannying experiences in New York and Wisconsin have taught me how to both nurture and challenge children, by being both a caretaker and someone who supports children with their interests and hobbies, and overall, being someone who knows how to have fun with them. I take a very creative approach to working with children; I feel that finding one's personality and letting it shine through in all aspects of life is something that is essential for kids to learn, so I believe that it is a babysitter's job to be able to be flexible, creative, and fun at all times--while keeping reasonable boundaries as well. I love spending time talking with children about what's going on in their lives, and being able to be supportive of their interests.

I have two children whom have grown and no longer need all of my attention and a husband who works 2nd shift. I am a preschool teacher and have been for 20 years. I love teaching, crafts, and playing outside. I do babysit children from my center where I work. I have a teaching degree and hold a valid CPR card. I became a teacher/caregiver because I love teaching, listening, and being patient with children. Children need lots of attention, whether doing homework or just having fun I am easy going but consistent with what I do. With my son off to college and my daughter finishing high school soon, I find myself needing to keep busy in the evenings and on the weekends.

Hello! I have been in childcare since I graduated from high school. While in school for a Bachelors in History from UW Whitewater, I served as a nanny for three different families. After moving back home to attend Cardinal Stritch for an MA in Teaching, I took a position at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington County. From 2019 to fall of this past year, I was promoted three times, and ended my employment as a unit director there due to moving to Milwaukee. While there and in school, I became an expert in child development, activity planning, and implementation. I am also CPR and first aid certified. Since leaving the Clubs, I have been working in the daycare field. As a result of this, I have all my early education licensure. I graduated from Alverno College with my Bachelor’s degree in social work and medical interpreting in May 2020. I was hired by Rogers Behavioral Health as a residential counselor and worked there for 1.5 years. I graduated from Concordia University in May 2023 with a Master's in Social Work. I currently work as a licensed social worker for Child Protective Services in Waukesha County. Hi, my name is Renee Varland.  I am married and have two children, ages 14 and 16 years.  I worked as a Medical Laboratory Technologist for 20 years.  My husband and I moved to Oak Creek in 1994.  In addition to raising my own children, I babysat for many years as a teenager and have babysat neighbors' and friends' children as an adult.  For the last nine months I been caring for an infant.  This job ended because the grandparents  now care for the child. Also, for one year I have prepared an elementary school child for school on some days in the early morning.  I am CPR certified, I have my own transportation, and I am a non-smoker.  Some of my favorite hobbies are jogging, camping, cooking, and cake decorating.  I am very involved in my own childrens' lives and continue to participate actively in their school activities, sports, music lessons, fund raisers and band.  I am very personable, professsional, like to have fun and try new things.  I'm sure you would enjoy me as a caregiver.
