School Counselor seeking occasional babysitting positions (weeknights and weekends) I have over 20 years of babysitting experience for children of all ages, from being a nanny for 4 children in New York City (ages 2 to 8), working as the site supervisor of an after school program, completion of my Master's degree in School Counseling which included 600 hours interning with students ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade, and one full year as a middle/high school counselor. I have my bachelor's degree in English from UW- Madison and master's in Counselor Education from UW-Whitewater. I have been re-certified in adult and child CPR in 2016. I truly love working with children--both teaching them and learning life lessons from them. My nannying experiences in New York and Wisconsin have taught me how to both nurture and challenge children, by being both a caretaker and someone who supports children with their interests and hobbies, and overall, being someone who knows how to have fun with them. I take a very creative approach to working with children; I feel that finding one's personality and letting it shine through in all aspects of life is something that is essential for kids to learn, so I believe that it is a babysitter's job to be able to be flexible, creative, and fun at all times--while keeping reasonable boundaries as well. I love spending time talking with children about what's going on in their lives, and being able to be supportive of their interests.

I have two children whom have grown and no longer need all of my attention and a husband who works 2nd shift. I am a preschool teacher and have been for 20 years. I love teaching, crafts, and playing outside. I do babysit children from my center where I work. I have a teaching degree and hold a valid CPR card. I became a teacher/caregiver because I love teaching, listening, and being patient with children. Children need lots of attention, whether doing homework or just having fun I am easy going but consistent with what I do. With my son off to college and my daughter finishing high school soon, I find myself needing to keep busy in the evenings and on the weekends.

I have an educational background in creative writing, business management and am currently studying to be an ultrasound tech. I have 4 years of childcare experience through this platform and Care.com (years 2018-2022). I then moved on to retail management, but have dropped my hours to be enrolled in school. I loved nannying while getting my first degree and am ready to get back into it! I have experience with children ages 2-12 years old. I have learned morning, afterschool, and bed time routines. I have helped with school work and ensuring chores get done, as well as encouraging developmental skills. I have experience with diaper changing and potty training. I have made simple meals and provide light housekeeping. I am not currently CPR certified, but have taken the course twice and am willing to take again. I enjoy reading or being read to, as well as arts and crafts. I enjoy coloring, pottery or play-doh figures, building forts, and a new interest in LEGOs. I love movie nights, board games, walks around the neighborhood. Ive taken kids to libraries, museums, parks, walks on trails, swim lessons, piano lessons, and trampoline parks. I’ve been able to have a lot of fun with the kids I’ve watched in the past and experience really cool moments in their lives.

I have been working closely with children for 15 years, including two years as an au pair. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Counseling & Guidance and have two years of experience as a school counselor, giving me a strong foundation in child development. I specialize in caring for infants and have experience with potty training. I’ve worked with children from newborns to age 13. Additionally, I have my own car, am comfortable with pets, can prepare meals and snacks, and can assist with light housekeeping. Alongside babysitting part-time, I work as a freelance graphic designer and enjoy doing art projects with kids. I have references available and can share my LinkedIn profile if you’d like to learn more about me.

Hi, my name is Renee Varland. I am married and have two children, ages 14 and 16 years. I worked as a Medical Laboratory Technologist for 20 years. My husband and I moved to Oak Creek in 1994. In addition to raising my own children, I babysat for many years as a teenager and have babysat neighbors' and friends' children as an adult. For the last nine months I been caring for an infant. This job ended because the grandparents now care for the child. Also, for one year I have prepared an elementary school child for school on some days in the early morning. I am CPR certified, I have my own transportation, and I am a non-smoker. Some of my favorite hobbies are jogging, camping, cooking, and cake decorating. I am very involved in my own childrens' lives and continue to participate actively in their school activities, sports, music lessons, fund raisers and band. I am very personable, professsional, like to have fun and try new things. I'm sure you would enjoy me as a caregiver. Renee Varland

Hello, I have extensive experience working with children in both educational and caregiving settings. Since 2004, I have worked in a school environment, and in 2007, I earned my Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. I spent over 12 years as a Teacher and Assistant in Early Childhood Education for the Head Start program before transitioning to the School District in 2017, where I began working in Special Education. As part of my ongoing professional development, I regularly attend training sessions, including Pyramid Model Training, CPR/First Aid certification, and Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards. Through my years of experience, I have learned the importance of creating a nurturing environment that incorporates structure, routines, and meaningful learning opportunities to support each child’s unique development. Additionally, I am highly conscious of health and safety. I follow CDC guidelines and take extra precautions to prevent the spread of illnesses, including COVID-19. If needed I will wear a mask. Additionally, I have undergone multiple background checks through the school district, all of which are clear. I also have a reliable insured vehicle. I am an animal lover. I am a dog mom of an Italian greyhound. I am patient, fun, and caring. I would love the opportunity to provide quality care for your child and look forward to connecting! I appreciate your time and consideration.
