Hello! My name is Savannah and I am currently a student at Grand Canyon Univeristy in Phoenix, Arizona. I currently have a 3.8 GPA and am going to school for early education. I grew up with a blended family and I have 7 siblings. I have always loved coordinating events and babysitting my siblings. I have a car and will be able to transport to and from events if needed! I am CPR certified and have lots of experience with children. I am from Waukesha, Wisconsin and am planning on living in Arizona full time. However, I will be heading back home for breaks November 22nd- December 3rd and December 13th- January 5th. Summer of 2023 I worked as a disabled child care taker. Some of my responsibilities were changing, assisting with the bathroom, and helping with motor skills. This past summer was a part-time nanny for a 6 year old boy. On a typical day, I transported him from summer academy back home and then we did lots of fun crafts and activities throughout the day. I am looking for another part-time position that works with my school schedule. For the Fall semester I only have in person classes on Tuesday and Thursday from 7 am- 11 am, which makes my schedule very flexible. I am comfortable working with all ages!

Although I never was a registered babysitter, I have babysat and taken care of three or four children at a time within my family. I was a nanny for my sister Leah and her three children when I was 14 for a whole summer in between academic school years, for example. I did work at a daycare - Little Dumplings Early Learning Center- for the summer and I absolutely enjoyed every second. I worked with ages 6 months-3 years primarily and I love that age because I see so much personality development and growth at those ages. It is an extremely rewarding job knowing I help not only the kids with every day activities, but that I also help the parents. I know life can get very hectic and not working isn’t an option. I think that taking care of children is a great gift to people like me who want to work with children when they get older. It is great practice as I always learn many new things, and again as I said before, it is incredibly rewarding watching and helping little children grow into toddlerhood then preschool age and so on. I currently attend the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee studying Early Childhood Education receiving my certificate in General Education, Special Education and English Language Learners. I currently work at the Children’s Learning Center primarily in a toddler classroom, but have experience in infant, preschool and kindergarten classrooms.
