When I was a little girl, my mother provided childcare for five toddlers and an infant. That meant I was still a child myself when I had my very first experience helping to care for little ones. By the age of 14, I obtained a worker’s permit and began assisting at the local YMCA’s before- and after-school daycare program. For me, there has been nothing more profoundly rewarding than helping children explore the world around them — a privilege I’ve enjoyed off and on for the past 30 years. Over the years, I’ve worked with children in both school and private settings. While I sincerely valued my time in schools for the opportunity to support children from all walks of life, my greatest joy has always been in private care. It allows me the freedom to provide the loving, individualized, and fully attentive care that every child deserves.
