My wife and I have twin 5 year old boys. They'll be off from preschool in the summer and we are looking for a sitter who can sit for us on weekday mornings and possibly the occasional weekend day / date night. We both work, but typically, we alternate our schedules so that we're rarely working on the same day.
Have patience! Our boys are 5 and they very much act like 5 year old boys (rowdy, loud and short attention spans). They are identical twins and one is high-functioning autistic (so the occasional meltdown is inevitable).
We'd prefer the boys stay at home with the sitter. We have a decent size backyard and encourage them to play outside as much as possible. With the right sitter, we would be okay with them going to a park or library nearby, but don't expect anyone to take our kids on the interstate or anything like that. Getting them to and from swim lessons or NinjaTrix practice might be in the cards depending on the situation / comfortability.
