St. Thomas Church's child care room is available for children during church on Sunday mornings from 9-11:30am. We are currently seeking a part-time childcare attendant to assist our seasoned nursery attendant in providing a safe and welcoming space for children and families.
We expect our child care attendant to welcome parents and children from many different backgrounds, and help orient new families to the child care room. They will offer and provide for the emotional, physical and social needs of young children during the time they are in the child care room. They will prepare and maintain a warm, safe environment that is orderly, clean and appealing. They will establish and maintain good communication and be sensitive and responsive to parents.
Candidates for this position must be at least 16 years old, and must be nurturing, caring, patient, and enjoy working with young children. Background experience in child care or early childhood development is appreciated. Organizational skills are helpful. CPR and First Aid certification required, either before or after hiring.
Also, all St. Thomas employees must undergo background check and fulfill Diocese of Olympia Safeguarding training requirements.
