I am a retired educator with experience with children ages 3 years to adulthood. I have teens of my own, and I am looking to work families interested in a trusting, and compassionate caregiver. I am specialist in learning and child development. I have experience, and BS degrees in early childhood (birth to 3 years old)/elementary education with a focus on literacy/ and STEM Education ( science, technology, engineering, and math). I have Masters Degree in Special/Collaborative Education with a focus on learning differences ( neurodiversity). I hold a second Masters degree in Education Administration/Leadership. I taught and creates school and countywide programs for ages 3years to 18. I’ve taught and created school and district wide programs to address the needs of our students. After retiring from education, I became the curriculum specialist and later the CEO of a nonprofit focused on helping vulnerable children heal from trauma through our support in mental health, educational guidance, and love. I retired in 2024, and I miss kids! I miss being in their lives. My children are independent teens, and have their busy lives, and I miss caring for children. I am in good health, and very active. I’ve taught fitness classes for 30 years. I am hoping to spend some with and support young children and their families.

Having worked as an education researcher at a STEM boarding school for exceptional high school students, I have had the unique opportunity to work with, advise, and coach students outside the classroom to achieve success, both academically and personally, as we partner together to prepare for college. I leveraged many valuable skills when I transitioned to working with younger children. I enjoy working with children of all ages where I use my skills and their interests to spark a love for learning. Before the pandemic shutdown, primarily lead taught the pre-k class and periodically helping in the 1-2 year old class. I am a creative and enjoy using crafts, interactive imaginative play, movement, and cooking to teach little ones. I believe these types of activities are rich for learning, building social and communication skills, strengthening fine and gross motor skills, increasing confidence as well as fostering community responsibility. I have a Bachelors degree in Behavioral Biology (PreMed) where I have taken courses in child psychology, abnormal psychology, maternal and child health, and child nutrition. I have also completed a Masters degree in Sociology, a fellowship in Education Policy, and successfully completed all certification classes and trainings to work in a licensed daycare in two state.
