Hi! My name is Erika :) My baby sitting experience started from taking care of my younger brother after school and summers since he was a baby. I was always the most reliable choice, and eventually learned the skills of a baby sitter pretty quickly. To add on, I volunteered at a summer program before the pandemic for a class of 1st graders. Some of my duties for the day consisted of watching movies, playing outside, prepping easy snacks, and overall keeping them happy! It was honestly a great experience and made me realize that I want to work with kids as a future career. During college, I have been babysitting kids that range from 10 months to 12 yrs old! Hi there. I have loved children my whole life. Majoring in Human Development at UC Davis was an easy decision for a career path. I began teaching preschool after graduation, then worked for a few years at as lay counselor at a non-profit. I stayed home for a number of years to raise my two sons; I am so grateful to have wonderful relationships with both of them. I began working again as a preschool teacher, the, transitioned to being a nanny and family assistant. I have fourteen years of experience with two families. One of my greatest strengths is being intentional about the relationships I have with people -personal and professional. I am kind and respectful toward others and I am intentional about teaching that to children. I nurturing and intuitive, but also analytical and driven by a desire to always be learning. My name is Pauline Kavanagh I am a wife to a wonderful husband and a 11 year old daughter. I was a personal assistant for the last 15 years in Atherton and in that time the family welcomed 2 girls. Prior to my recent job I was a nanny for the Mayor of Los Altos for 2 years. I cared for the 3 children ages 9 months, 9 and 11 years old. I also did a lot of babysitting while in high school and in college - (Associate in Spanish~ speak Spanish fluently) worked for Andronico's Market in Los Altos 15 years where I became a sitter for many families and also ran errands as a concierge. In all honestly I’m a pretty shy person… definitely takes a while for me to comfortable! What makes it worse is my soft voice so if you need a nanny whose kids will listen to. That’s probably not me haha! To describe myself a little more…. How can I ?… well Anywho I love working with kids so much it’s amazing that we have tiny little human beings EVERYWHERE. It keeps my heart warm knowing kids have amazing Nannie’s that take care of them and amazing parents. Knowing that our babies and kids at my daycare job are safe here makes my heart warm and happy. Safety is the most important thing for me , then fun!!! Making core memories with kids is my goal as well! If you’d like to know me personally some of my favorite things are music, makeup and going to the gym! Oh and also food :) I currently work with infants and toddlers up to 3 years old. I have taught them basic sign language and now teaching them Spanish! Did I mention I also speak Spanish? I have been around babies my whole like being the oldest grandchild & oldest daughter. I’ve seen all the tough obstacles a parent has to go through for their kids. It’s amazing that there’s jobs where we can help out parents now back then I know it was only if you knew someone who knew someone. I feel more secure putting myself on here on this site! Rather than going around telling people I’m looking for a part time job :) I’d like to mention I currently have my CPR & First Aid training certification & I also have done mandatory training/ child care class online.
