I am a 30 year old artist who just moved from Silverlake to Sierra Madre. whooo. I'm from Albuquerque originally, where I frequently sat on kids and had a great time doing it. I need to work, but I can't deal with office politics and sedentary jobs anymore or feeling that my time is being wasted. That's definitely *not* how i feel with children. I like running around and being creative. I know first aid and don't panic in tough situations. I also feel that kids often just want some respect, and they'll do most things if you give them a good reason and communicate openly. I have been working regularly for a few families here in the LA area and have met some really great parents and kids. In general I'm not a meat eater, except for some occasional fish. I have no problem being around it or handling though (my main issues have to do with factory farming). I'm comfortable working in a more holistic family environment and am familiar with attachment parenting. I was also raised Montessori (with a good dose of public school later on), and have learned a lot about Waldorf in the last year. :) Thank you for your time!

I enjoy staying and keeping the little ones active and miss helping them reach their milestones. I have my own transportation, can cook, help around the house if need be. I feel being a loving mother to my own is helpful to caring for someone else’s. I am however allergic to cats but don’t have any issues with any other pets. Hi my name is Melanie I’ve been around little kids my whole life. I am the first child in my family which came with many responsibilities like caring and looking out for my baby cousins (girls/ boys), sisters and our family pets( cats/dogs/ hamsters)! Making sure there was always fun and safe activities ahead of us as well as a good snacks/meals. Now that a lot of my cousins and sisters are older I am very thankful to say that I was a big part of their childhood and was able to teach them so much. I have been a volunteer at my local church for 5 years over the weekends where I am a T.A and work with kids ages 5-11. I have also been an explorer with the Ventura County Sheriffs Department for 6 years now and we work with teenagers ages 13-21. We educate them in law enforcement as well as teaching them responsibility, team work, CPR/ first aid and most importantly how to have fun and make long lasting friends! I was a gymnast for 5 years and a volunteered coach for 2 years where I worked with toddlers over the weekends! This was something very heart warming to me because I was able to share and teach them and their parents a sport I am very passionate about! I have always had a love for kids that’s why one day I hope and pray to have kids of my own!
