I was a part time nanny all through high school and full time after for 2 families (ages 1-5yrs & 8mo-6yrs). I’ve watched both boys and girls. I’m experienced with preparing meals, bathing and bedtime as well as day time activities. I love engaging with children and encouraging their imaginations and interests. I have experience in caring for children with parental separation anxiety as well as other mild behavioral situations. I've worked as an Aid (SCIA) in a Mild to Moderate Early Intervention Preschool Class, and before that I volunteered for a year and a half in a Moderate to Severe Preschool Class Specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have also been a babysitter for 10 years (beginning when I was 12). I love children, they are so joyful and positive, even when they are having the worst of days. There is something so special and unique about children who have special needs, they just love so much it's incredible, they are superheroes, but not many people recognize them as that. I'm a preschool special education teacher on summer break and just looking to save some extra money for future travel through babysitting and pet sitting while away from the classroom :)

I am currently going into my senior year at UCSB and am looking for a part time nanny gig until I go back to school in mid September. I have been babysitting since I was 11 and became an aunt at 14. I have cared for multiple kids at a time ranging in ages from 5 months-11 years old. My favorite things to do as a nanny/babysitter are crafts with the kids, going on walks, going to the park, and truly anything they want to do. As one of six children, I’ve been surrounded by kids all of my life. I started helping my mother in our church nursery at age 10. Even then I loved holding babies and still do. I started babysitting at age 13 for neighbors, family friends, and church members. I’ve also worked in childcare at the gym throughout the years. I have 12 units in ECE because at one point I was considering becoming a preschool teacher. I switched gears however and completed my nursing degree in 2014. I grew up babysitting my sister. That turned into babysitting her friends and local neighbors kids. My family owned a restaurant which I worked at and on the side I would babysit the other waitresses kids. In college, I babysat for 4 families that live in my condo complex. When I worked at my hometown veterinary hospital, I pet sat and babysat for the veterinarians and their clients. I've also done hospice care and worked in in home care in the differently abled arena for 8 years. My aunt is a nurse. My great grandma was a nurse. All the way back in the family line we are caregivers. My personality is INFP, which means I'm intuitive, sensitive and feeling, and perceive things well, all which help with caring for others. Being helpful makes me feel good. It's my identity and provides my sense of self. Even when I'm doing something else, I get drawn to being helpful and caring.

I’ve also spent four summers working as a coach at Nike Basketball Camps, where I worked with kids of different ages and learned how to keep them engaged, safe, and having fun. I’m responsible, energetic, patient, and love being active! I’m also fluent in Spanish and have experience volunteering with elementary-aged children, including helping in classrooms and working with younger students through school projects.
