Hi, my name is Erica Tutton. I’m a graduate from San Jose State University with a degree in Psychology. I’ve worked at the Boys and Girls Club working their after school and summer program. I have experience teaching curriculum such as education, sports, technology, and art. I have also worked as a behavioral therapist for children with autism, and have been a babysitter/ nanny throughout college. I’d still love to work with kids and help out families when I can!

We have been beyond blessed having Erica take care of our 19-month-old son for the last 6 weeks. She reads him book after book, she plays with blocks and cars and chases him around until they are both cracking up laughing. She handles his lunch, bath time, and nap time every day (and he is not an easy one to nap for most people). What I was really amazed with was her level of engagement with him. My husband and I work from home and we could hear her talking to him and laughing with him all day. He asks for her and talks about her constantly when she's not here and we were heartbroken when our local daycare had a spot open up for him. Anyone would be lucky to have her care for their child.

Hi! My names Josey and I’m a local here in Santa Cruz. I am attending courses at Cabrillo and have received degrees in Early childhood Education, Health Sciences, and Liberal Arts & Sciences with an emphasis in Interdisciplinary Studies, all with honors. I have also been awarded my anti bias certification and my certification for working with diverse families. Currently, I am working on receiving my teaching certification. I did volunteer work with Cowells junior guards as a captain. The captains help the instructors with the junior guards (ages 5-12). Before I was able to work with the children I was certified in CPR and AED. My first job was as a lifeguard at Simpkins Family Swim Center for 2 years. I was certified in lifeguard training, first aid, CPR and AED. I taught swim lessons, all ages but mostly ages 2-8. Toddlers are so much fun! I also did childcare and little guards. Little guards and swim lessons were really fun because I got to know the children. By the end of the sessions, we would be laughing and playing around together. I worked with Head Start as a part time teachers assistant. Prior to being part time, I was working on call. I have had the opportunity to work with children from 6 months - 6 years with Head Start. After leaving Head Start, I worked at Coastal Community Preschool in the toddler classroom. I sometimes return to the school as a sub. I've worked as a nanny and babysitter off and on throughout my life. When I am with the children, they receive my undivided attention. When there is down time, I am more than happy to take care of household chores. I am comfortable working with all ages. This past year I have had the joy of increasing my infant care experience. I was recently re-certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid. I have completed my Title 22 requirements for working with children. I completed a background check with Head Start, Cabrillo, and Coastal Communities but it does not show on SitterCity. Please ask to see my credentials! I am happy to provide you with any documentation that you would like. I look forwards to meeting you and your children.

I have been a private career nanny for multiple families (for ages 7 months and up) for over 14 years now, as well as a daycare teacher assistant and an Au Pair. I connect very well with children; I enjoy working with the magical little beings because I’m inspired by their contagiously high-spirits and spontaneous creativity! I offer children an abundance of presence and play. I encourage nature-based exploration, creativity cultivation, and problem-solving. I draw inspiration from elements of alternative education philosophies, but I’m mostly interested in letting the child lead while I provide the appropriate boundaries and guidance. Each child is so unique, and my goal is to facilitate their unfolding. I would be a good fit for your family if you are looking for a responsible nanny with a good heart, an authentic appreciation for kids, and someone who will provide a positive contribution to their development.

Jaynelle has been the nanny of our four children ages 2, 6, 8, & 10 for the past two years. We could not be happier to have found such a caring, responsible, attentive, fun loving person to watch over our children. Our three boys and their younger sister absolutely adore her, as do we. We could not say enough good things about Jaynelle and her quality of care. We will dearly miss having her around as she has been such a positive influence on all of our children. She is genuinely one of the nicest most sincere people you will meet. Unfortunately for us Jaynelle will be relocating to Narragansett. Let our loss be your gain. If you are considering hiring a person for a child care / nanny position Jaynell comes very highly recommend.

Hi, I’m Colette (Coco) Dougher! I absolutely love being a sitter because every day with kids is different—whether it’s playing pretend, helping with homework, or calming a fussy baby, I truly enjoy being a supportive and positive part of a child’s day. Babysitting has been one of the most meaningful and fun parts of my life over the last five years. I’ve worked with a wide range of families and cared for children from infancy through the teenage years. I’m comfortable managing busy schedules, helping with school pickups, driving to sports or activities, preparing meals, and handling bedtime routines. I’ve also built strong, lasting relationships with families—many of whom are happy to provide references. In terms of skills and training, I’m a safe and responsible driver with years of experience transporting kids safely. I’m dependable, communicative, and calm under pressure. I also go the extra mile by helping keep things tidy—whether it’s doing light household cleaning or guiding kids to clean up their rooms and take pride in their space. I’m always happy to pitch in and make things easier for parents. I’d love the chance to get to know your family and support your childcare needs!

Colette was wonderful with our kids and was very responsible and punctual. The kids really enjoyed having her last Summer. She was available for pick and drop and helped with activities for my daughter and was able to take them to the pool and tennis camp. I would hire her again.

I have worked with children since I was about 10 years old. I helped my mom run her day care that had ages 3-15. I also worked at a gym childcare for 3 years with ages 0-10. I have worked at a school for neurodivergent kids as an aid. The two students I worked with were 10 years old. I currently work with infants at a Montessori. We have ages 4mo-1.5 years. I also have experience nannying for families. I am CPR and first aid certified, and I also taught swim lessons for about a year. I love working with kids, and I can’t wait to meet your family!

Hi, My name is Katie, I have experience working with all age groups- infants, toddlers, and preteens. I love what I do! I have been a nanny for about 10 years... Everyday is packed full of fun-making cookies out of clay, playing cars, talking about cartoons, packing picnics for the park, counting, learning colors, learning manners, speech development, sharing, playing with peers, bike rides/wagon rides all around the neighborhood and more. During the years (2017- March 2020), I cared for 3 children - 2 girls and 1 boy. Their ages were 6, 4 and 2. I was with them for a little over 2 years. My hours were from 9am to 3pm in the Summer and 9am to 5pm during the school year. My job duties included entertaining the children with various activities (soccer, arts and crafts, card/board games, baking, ect), drop-offs/pick-ups from school, hosting playdates, helping with homework, as well grocery shopping and keeping the house tidy. I miss the family very much. At the end of 2020, I worked with a temp agency and I was matched with a lovely family with 3 young children. They were 5 months, 4 and 6 years old. We did a lot of fun activities at home due to Covid. We read books, baked cookies, jumped on the trampoline, played games, and sang songs. And I continue to do on-call/temp work for them until I can find something permanent. I would love to meet you and your family to see if I would be a good fit- My availability is 8am to 4pm. I love what I do and hope to hear back from you soon. My rate is $35 per hour. Thank you, Katie

I truly love caring for kids, it comes naturally to me. I enjoy building relationships with children and creating an environment where they feel safe, supported, and free to be themselves. Watching kids learn, play, and grow brings me a lot of joy, and I love being someone they can count on. I’m a single mom of three amazing kids (including twins!), and I’ve been caring for children for over a decade. I have experience with all ages, from infants to preteens, and I’m especially comfortable with neurodivergent children and kids with big feelings or unique needs. Alongside raising my own, I’ve cared for other families’ children as well, including other sets of twins. I have hands-on experience with infants, including babywearing, cloth diapering, and baby-led weaning. I’m familiar with the needs of autistic and ADHD children, and I use a gentle, trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming approach. While I’m not currently CPR certified, I do know CPR and am happy to get certified if needed. Feel free to ask for my driving record or a background check. I’m calm under pressure, attentive, and I know how to meet kids where they’re at.
