My name is Alondra, I am 22 years old and I recently moved down to Arizona from Washington. I moved this way to have a fresh start and because I loved it here after visiting my sister last year. In my most recent job, I was a teaching assistant at a daycare center where I worked with 12 toddlers. I would assist the teacher with day to day activities that consisted of: feeding the children breakfast, changing diapers/potty training, monitoring them during outdoor activities and helping soothe the children for nap time. I enjoyed the job very much because I loved reading to the kids and singing songs with them. I enjoyed seeing their smiles on their faces and experiencing how intelligent and curious a little child could be was always great thing to be a part of. I find it amazing how much of an impact it is to just see and interact with them and have always found it a blessing to see how excited they get when you walk into the room.

My experience: During the week, I work full-time as a caretaker for a local daycare facility. I was taught and trained by a fantastic non-profit, play-based facility in Livermore that values the children, regardless of disability or culture (Livermore Playschool). I've always taken on the role of caretaker, as I've watched her take care of my siblings and me, in addition to caring for other families' children.
