Hello! My name is Karla, and in 2023, I moved to Kailua-Kona with the intent to work at Alakaii Academy, a preschool. This was my first experience working with children, and I am very grateful to Mrs. Pablo for giving me the opportunity to work there with just my caregiver qualification. During my time at Alakaii Academy, I learned more than I had expected. I gained a better understanding of child development and taught the little ones how to socialize for the first time. I have the patience to listen to them and help them make the best choices, such as understanding the importance of cleaning up after play and potty training. In my toddler classroom, I also worked with children preparing for kindergarten, assisting the teacher in communicating with them and maintaining a quiet environment so they could focus on listening.
