Hi, my name’s Ayana Amoja. I’m 23 and a current college junior. Throughout high school, I babysat elementary-age children. Furthermore, I worked at a private school working with kids ages 5-14 as well as a part-time nanny to 3 and 5-year-olds, ages 5-12 in a public school setting and with ages 2-5 at two different preschools. I have also been a nanny for an 18 month-year-old and a 1-year-old. I love working with kids. They have made such an impact on my life and I just hope I’ve done the same for them. My number one thing is safety and I will always prioritize the child’s needs.

My family was visiting from out of town for a wedding and hired Ayana to babysit our 3 yr old during the later end of the wedding in our hotel room. From the interview through the babysitting process, I was really appreciative of Ayana’s openness, experience, and flexibility. We hired her for the entire evening but for much of the evening we had her on “standby” in the hotel until we were ready to put our toddler to bed. She was patient and flexible while waiting for us and very friendly. Would definitely recommend her to others!

I am 63 looking fo part time work and since I have always loved being around children and my college degree is in child care too that is what I am looking to do. IMy career started out on the maternity ward at Guys Hospital in London helping mothers with their new borns and in the neonatal unit. After that I nannied in Europe for two little girls, who several years later I went back to in London for a short time. On returning to England I worked in another maternity hospital, then in a Nursery School. For a while I did some temporary nannying for a variety of families with children of various ages, tiny to teens. Then my green card came through and I came to the USA to nanny in DC for a Naval family. After a couple of years there I went on to another family in DC who were worked in the government administration. Since then I have been married had three sons of my own, which was my full time job!

Emily was amazing with our little girl! Our daughter took to her immediately and Emily was clearly very experienced and knew just how to handle a 3-year-old. Amazingly, she got our daughter to bed before 9PM which never happens for us! When our daughter woke up in the morning the first person she was asking for was Emily and it’s clear she really enjoyed her company. When we came home the play area was also tidied up which certainly is nice to come home to!! :)
