Kristi T., Child Care in Davenport, FL 33837 with 4 years of paid experience

Creative, energetic! Honest and hardworking! Hello! My name is Kristi, I’m in search of a nanny position in or around Kissimmee. Willing to travel a little if the job is worth the travel time. I’m looking for a position with a minimum of 20 hours per week. Maximum 35 hours (again, this may flexible depending on the needs) Looking for the right fit, and I’m flexible with the schedule, depending on what your family needs. My starting wage for one child is 20/hr. About me.. I am 25 years old. I moved from Massachusetts to Florida when I was 22 to create a life I love and grow more as an individual. I have an associates degree in psychology. I have taken the child development courses, since I plan to be a child psychologist (once I go back to school and get my doctorate degree). I have experience of working as a preschool teacher, daycare teacher, and have been a nanny for up to 4 children at a time. I have worked with newborns and older. I homeschooled 4 children durning Covid; ages ranged from 4 to 10 years old. I am a positive person and a creative and energetic nanny. I love to keep children engaged by providing creative and fun, age appropriate crafts and activities! I love to help the children learn and grow as individuals. I’ve been asked before, and I think it’s a valid question.. How do I handle outbursts and behavioral problems? I work with children in working with their emotions. Help them understand, and communicate what they’re feeling, rather than throwing a tantrum. I teach that it’s okay to be mad, even if it’s mad at me. But it’s not okay to scream or hit etc. it’s okay for them to tell me they need space for a bit to calm their body, once they cool off then we have a conversation about it. And if they’re younger, we take some breaths to calm the body and comfort them, teaching them an age appropriate way to keep calm. Emotional intelligence and proper communication is important. My main priority is creating a safe and positive environment for children to learn, grow and develop. If you are looking for a nanny or have any other questions, feel free to message me!
