Help them understand, and communicate what they’re feeling, rather than throwing a tantrum. I teach that it’s okay to be mad, even if it’s mad at me. But it’s not okay to scream or hit etc. it’s okay for them to tell me they need space for a bit to calm their body, once they cool off then we have a conversation about it. And if they’re younger, we take some breaths to calm the body and comfort them, teaching them an age appropriate way to keep calm. Emotional intelligence and proper communication is important.
