With an extensive background in early childhood education, I’ve also spent years babysitting and nannying for a variety of families—many of which I still keep in touch with today! Having grown up in Candler Park and now living in East Atlanta, I am very familiar with the Atlanta area and the many child friendly spots! In 2010 I graduated from UGA with a BA in Child and Family Development, with a specialization in Birth-5 special education. After 15 years in the education field, I am exploring some of my other passions and interests in the realm of house management, design and decor, organization and home improvement. My time as teacher, school administrator, and being the oldest of 5 children, all contributed to my extensive background in working with a variety of families. As you future babysitter I am well versed in school drop-offs and pick-ups, meal prep, homework, keeping the house tidy and organized, bedtime routines, extracurricular activities, potty training, supporting children with chores, positive behavior management special needs. You can count on your child being engaged in a balance of activities that facilitate their interests, including imaginative and creative play, sensory play, active and outdoor play, art, reading, and quiet time. I also enjoy facilitating children to help with chores and clean up - which promotes independence. I grew up being a caretaker, of children, dogs, and family members. I was a full time caretaker for my nana 5 years ago who suffered from dementia, I had to bathe, dress, and feed her, as well as take her to and from countless appointments. 3 years ago my cousins were misplaced due to horrible circumstances and had to move in with me and my family for about 9 months, after school i would pick up my cousins from school and took care of them until around 8 pm when there mother would be home 5 days a week. Last summer I was a full time caretaker of my niece/goddaughter, she was 13 months when i began taking care of her full time due to unfortunate circumstances my sister was in.
