Hello, I am a 23 year old currently in college for culinary arts. I have been taking care of children since I was 9, when my first niece was welcomed into the world. Since then, I've had the pleasure of caring for 8 more nieces/nephews along with countless other children, mostly below 10 but recently I've been studying techniques to be an effective tutor as well, in order to teach children in a way that helps them to retain and understand knowledge on important subjects, rather than telling me the answer to a question without knowing why it is the answer. Through my experiences and own work, I have obtained years worth of skills and training in areas such as infant care, childcare, cooking, housekeeping, event planning, all of which I have been doing unofficially for at least a decade now (with the exception of event planning) and officially for about 2 years. Hello Parents! Im a Mom of 2 boys, seeking a part time position. Preferably pickups, date nights or weekends in the care of my house. Weekends -open to caring in your home (Pet & drug free) Just a little bit about myself, I have been raised in a Christian background where both of my parents instilled amazing values in me. My mother, who is the owner of a licensed In-home daycare, is where it all began. Growing up in this type of environment has given me a passion to care for children. I would assist my mother with duties such as teaching, caring for, playing, supervising and providing for up to 8 children at a time. I have had the pleasure of Nanning for many families over the years. One of the family's I was a live in nanny for 3 children, this family had 2 boys (8 & 3) and as well as a newborn 5 week old baby girl. Another family I drove the oldest, a 6 year old girl to and from school and watched her sister who was 3 years old in the family's home. I provided Breakfast, lunch and snacks and set up play dates with the parent's friends. I would take the girls to arts & craft activities, movie dates, parks and complete homework with the oldest daughter. Another family consisted of 1 year old twins, and a 3 year old boy, I was a mother helper 3-5 days a week. I assisted with any and everything you can think of, dinner, snacks, outside play, bath-time, light cleaning/ laundry, story time and arts & crafts. I have also cared for 2 older children on the weekends and occasionally date nights during the weeks or if the father was out of town. In my line of work, transportations, providing food, activities, play dates, running errands and light cleaning have all been included in these jobs. I hold a clean driving record and a drug free lifestyle. Reading, learning, arts & crafts are very important to me. I have a very bubbly personality and do not mind getting down on rolling around with children. I love to laugh and enjoy life in every way possible. When it comes to discipline, I like to go by what the parents suggest but physically discipline is a no go for me. Since having my own children, its giving me so much insight on special needs, as my oldest is on the autism spectrum as well as speech delayed. I have been focusing on both of their individual needs and helping him learn to trust in food again as he is a picky eater.
