Hello! My name is Kate McNeal and I am a nineteen-year old student at Iowa State University. To start, I have been surrounded by infants and young children my whole life with family and friends. I began learning about caretaking from a very young age because of this and have always had a passion for it. I have been a volunteer in the Prairie Lakes Church nursery for 10+ years. There, I work with ages 0-5. I began babysitting at age 10 for family members and friends. Prior, I took a babysitting course at Allen Hospital to receive my babysitting certification. Since then, I have babysat sporadically for many different ages. I consistently babysat for three children for the summer of 2021, as well as co-babysitting them with my older sister for 2 years prior. In the summer of 2022, I nannied for 2 elementary-aged girls. I completed a four week leadership training session at Ewalu Bible Camp in 2023 where I learned about childcare and counseling. I co-counseled with another staff member for a week for a group of fifth grade aged girls. I now work at Community United Child Care Centers and Preschool, where I have experience with all ages of children. I have completed all required training through DHS, as well as have received my First Aid and CPR certifications.
