Even though I am the youngest in my family, I have spent many years helping with my niece. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I work with 3-6 and 7-12 year olds mostly. I grew up helping at camp with at risk kids, I am a success coach with those kids as well. As a success coach I work with kids who aren’t having the best of times. I help them understand why they are upset and how we can work through this to have a better days. I am verified in mental health awareness for children. My name is madilyn mccann and i graduated hs in may of 2025 and furthered my education at Dmacc completing my CNA in August of 2025. I have lots of experience with working with children as i am the second oldest with 6 younger siblings. Growing up ive always watched and took care of my siblings, baby sat my cousins, ive babysat my niece multiple times who is now 1 and babysat my younger cousin who has down syndrome. Working with kids just gives me peace of mind, knowing that I’m helping the child grow learn in so many other different things. I began babysitting and childcare when I was 12years old. I have watched children both in clients homes and also at my church. I have provided care for up to 5 kids at one time by myself. I am certified in CPR, AED, and First aid for all ages. I am a mom of a spunky 3.5year old and I love to engage kids in activities and arts/crafts. My name is Maia Kissell and I am currently a second year at Iowa State studying English and Secondary Education. I have been working with children since I was 14 years old as a babysitter, kids club attendant, and lifeguard. As a previous employee at Genesis Kids Club, I watched children of various ages, from infants to 14-year-olds. Most previously, I am employed seasonally with Des Moines Parks and Recreation as a Supervisor of Nahas Aquatic Center. I have been a lifeguard since I was 15 years old, was given the opportunity to head-guard 2 years ago, and was previously hired as a Supervisor last summer. In this position, I earned my first-aid and CPR certifications. I also previously learned my LGI (Lifeguard Instructor) certification, which allows me to teach these concepts to lifeguards in need. In this role, I worked with employees and patrons to create a safe and fun environment. I was able to build relationships with both parents and children to ensure they were safe. I also have taught swim lessons through this position for 4 years. I have taught many ages, and many levels, allowing me to also become close with parents. I am currently employed at Success Gymnastics Studio in Ames, where I teach Preschool-Kindergarten aged children gymnastics. This requires communication and proper knowledge of lesson planning with both students and parents. I am very organized, flexible, and also have a car.
