Hello my name is Shaunte I am 27 years old I am fun love kids I am the oldest of 4 and the oldest of 27 grandchildren . I graduated high school I have been working with kids since I was 10 . I got my first job working as a youth supervisor when I was 14 at a summer youth program I worked there for 6 years until they closed down . I am very active at my church in the Sunday school department helping with kids ages 0-18 and also volunteering in the after school program at our preschool academy our church offers . I have worked with children with disabilities to adults and elderly with disabilities I have my CPR, First aide, Mandatory reporter (adults &kids) , blood borne , Dementia training I am willing to do anymore training if need be . I have done a lot of volunteering and working with kids I have worked for the Davenport Community School District for 2 years off and on I have a great relationship with the 6th graders I worked with and still to this day I still do . I have worked for McKinley and Harrison elementary school I also still have a relationship with the children and parents as well I’m a awesome worker teamworker love to get things done the correct way. I go over and beyond to make sure the kids that are in my environment are safe and happy :)

I grew up in a family of 5 with 25(!) cousins so I have always had children and babies in my life. I babysat my way through high school and college for 3 different families ranging in age from newborn-10 years old. Coming from a very loving and creative family I have concluded that when I am caring for a child the most important thing to me is creating a safe, loving, open but structured and positive environment for them.

I then worked with after school care to watch kids and help with homework for 2 years. I moved to a program to watch kids with disabilities after school and all summer. I was able to teach them simple skills, play games and give them new opportunities. I have first aide and CPR training as well as early childhood training and more.

As the oldest child in my family I have grown caring for them and my younger cousins. Since then I have babysat from infants to preteens. Currently working towards a degree in education. i love children they really do bring out the best in me, i’ve been taking care of children my whole life almost. 2 out of 3 of them do have autism and special needs but i love them equally. i love toddlers and little kids ! i love to cook and clean! as i also do follow rules and time schedules i understand that most parents do.
