Hi my name is Amy I've lived in the Quad Cities all of my life. I come from a big family which I'm very close with. I love the outdoors so I try to spend most of my time doing different activities outside. I love exercising running, movies,traveling and being with my family. I have two dogs Chelsea and Penelope who are also a big part of my family too. I have 2 sisters and two brothers which I'm always with one of them. I've been around kids all of my life, I've helped raise my two little cousin who are now 13 and 11. I've also helped raise my two nephew's who are 5 and 6 who I'm with all the time and just LOVE spending time with them, there so much fun. I don't have any children of my own so I love spoiling the kids, I'm the fun, cool, crazy aunt. I've raised both my cousins and nephew's from new borns so I know how to take care of babies. My family has a business which I do help with from time to time so even at work I'm with them too. I'm a parent myself (a toddler and a pre-schooler), so most of my experience is caring for them. I recently began working in before and after school child care in Iowa (where I got all my necessary certificates to work with children), but the pay and hours are inconsistent. I like being a child care provider because I find it easy and fulfilling. Children are just smaller people who are learning about and experience life and the world for the first time, so if you slow down and interact with them on their level and from their perspective they're pretty easy to get along with. My goal in pursuing jobs like this is to find more financial stability, but still have time to be present for my children's childhoods.
